"I gave Ricardo Garcia, the owner of Rain Hunters a budget and he stuck to it.  Rain Hunters did a good job using the resources that I had and greatly improved the look of my back yard.  They redid the sad, neglected area around my pool, added two beautiful planting beds with rock all the way around like a riverbed.  They added to a flagstone path and made a seating area that I requested.  All the existing plants and trees were shaped up and other plants were added to fill in.  The crew did good work and they were very conscientious about cleaning up after themselves and were always there when I was told they would be, or even earlier!   Any issues that I had regarding the work were promptly attended to by Mr. Garcia.  I would not hesitate to use this company again.

"When I bought this house, it was was filthy, smelled horrible from outside even, was rodent and roach-infested. Counters, floors were wet and rotting. Everything had to be torn out and rebuilt. Now my home is beautiful. The bathrooms are lovely. There were no short-cuts or rush jobs, or anything left unfinished. I’ve had neighbors and friends who are in building and construction admire and compliment the high quality of the work done on my home. Most people who come in comment on the beautiful flooring, or the cleanliness of the walls and ceilings. I live in a quiet, gated community and there was never a complaint about a mess outside or noise. Very clean."

Very satisfied with all different jobs they completed, from repairing my fence and saving me money to painting the outside of my house including my fence. Repairing my roof shingles and some water damage also. Very good handyman for different job tasks."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The cost to build a deck around a pool typically ranges from $3,000 to $12,000, depending on the size, material, and whether you tackle the build yourself. Most people pay an average of $5,000 for their pool deck project. Hiring a pro to build a pool will cost you more for labor, but it will be worth it to ensure a safe and secure installation.

When installing deck boards, screws are generally a better option than nails. Screws offer superior holding strength over time, keeping the boards securely in place. In contrast, nails are more likely to pop out, which can create a tripping hazard. While you can use either, we recommend using 3-inch galvanized deck screws. To minimize the risk of cracking the wood, it's a good practice to drill small pilot holes before driving the screws into the deck joists.

In most cases, there should be a small gap between the house and the deck, usually no more than ½ to ¾ of an inch. This space allows water and moisture to flow through instead of pooling against the side of your house. It also lets flashing protect your siding from runoff, which is one of the most common issues with decks.

The average cost to professionally clean or pressure wash a deck is around $150, with prices typically ranging from $100 to $600. Several factors influence the final price, including the deck's size, material, condition, and how long it has been since its last cleaning. For a smaller deck of about 300 square feet, you might pay around $100. For a larger deck of 1,000 square feet or more, the cost could be closer to $300 to $400. Decks that are very dirty or haven't been cleaned in years may require more time and special detergents, which will increase the price. The deck's material also plays a role. Wood decks often cost more to clean because they require a gentle power washing technique to avoid damage. Composite decks are typically less expensive to clean, and cleaning a metal deck may cost around $100.

Cutting the boards directly is one of the fastest ways to remove deck boards with hidden fasteners. Mark two parallel lines that are one-third of the total measurement on both ends and cut out the centerpiece. Then, remove the end of the board that doesn’t have a fastener. Finally, pry open the fastened side and pull it up to pop out the screw or access the fastener. This also allows you to salvage portions of boards for other projects.
