Individually owned business with two employees. I do also do some sub-contracting on certain jobs. I've been in this line of work for 10 years. My business is also listed on other sites like google, thumbtack, and home advisor. I accept checks and credit cards as well as cash. I do not expect full payment up front. My rule is I get some up front and the rest can be paid in throughout the job and the rest be paid upon completion.

"Go to Yelp so you Can read just how terrible this company is! Angies list only allows 999 words and i cannot get the entire nightmare in that many words. Went into contract June 2023, 16 week deadline to install my pool. This was Calvin & Rodney that came up with this NOT me. Perfect weather, no issues and i fired them March 2024. Also been in contact with BBB, EVERYTHING Calvin has responded to i have attached proof where he's lying. Thank God, after about a month into this train wreck we started saving text message & voicemails. Installed cameras to keep up with the progress, if not it would be his word against ours. We paid 102k to install a pool with no concrete, not counting the countless inspection fails. We owed them 3k to pour our 18x36 pool, all other cash already paid. We had a 12x16 pad we wanted him to pour for us, extra cost. When i fired him he quoted 9k for pad, we got another contractor to pour everything for 8k. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, LOOK UP YELP FOR MORE DETAIL."

Decorative Concrete questions, answered by experts

A floating slab is a single chunk of concrete that sits directly on flat soil, while a monolithic slab is a single piece of concrete that includes built-in footings that reach several feet below where the majority of the slab sits. Monolithic slabs provide more support, so they’re suitable for home construction, whereas floating slabs get minimal support from the soil directly below and are more common under sheds and detached garages.

You should water new concrete by spraying it five to 10 times per day for the first seven days. This process of moist curing allows the concrete to become as strong as possible to prevent cracks and weak concrete. Moist-cured concrete is 50% stronger than concrete that was not sprayed with water during the first week. The only exception is if you pour concrete in the winter. Then, spraying with water is not recommended.

Yes, concrete is significantly stronger than masonry, especially if the concrete pour includes reinforcements, like steel rebar. Concrete is a uniform material that can withstand compression, sheer force, and tensile force as long as it’s reinforced. Masonry involves the use of mortar or grout to connect individual building materials, like brick, stone, or tile. Mortar and grout are also reasonably strong and resist compression well, but they don’t come close to the strength of poured concrete.

Yes, baking soda and vinegar can remove rust from concrete. Vinegar is acidic and can remove rust stains from concrete on its own. Adding baking soda may increase abrasiveness, which could help loosen some of the stain even more when scrubbing the stain. However, a stiff-bristled brush can do the same.

The most idyllic building material that encapsulates the feel of Federal architecture is a brick facade, often with bricks alternating between long side and short side. Palladium and arched transom windows are also prevalent, as are flat, white window lintels. More ornate Federal architecture buildings also include columns on either side of the front door. More important than most of the finer details, though, is the symmetry from the exterior. On the interior, ornate plaster moldings and plaster ceiling medallions are indicative of the style.
