"I highly recommend this company. I had an 80 ft tree right next to my house removed and they did it neatly, quickly and for the cheapest price. The employees are friendly, accommodating and stacked all the wood for me . Great company to work with. M. Racz"

Small jobs welcome

"They did an excellent job. Arrived exactly at 9:00 a.m. and worked the entire day... I had about 12 stumps that needed to be ground down, and each one was done precisely as we discussed before starting. I would recommend this professional for any necessary stump grinding, including those in hard to reach areas."

"Freddy was so very kind and professional I told him that I wanted a certain tree cut down and he instead offered to just cut the more rotten limbs and shape up the rest So I agreed and the tree turned out so beautifully I’m so glad I took his advice I will definitely have him come back again and do some more tree work for me Additionally his office kept in touch with me from start to finish to make sure everything was going to my satisfaction Thanks so much! Arborists questions, answered by experts

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

In some states and municipalities, you will need a permit to remove a tree on your property. In many cases where permits are required, a tree must reach a maximum height before a permit is required to remove it. You can either ask your local building department or a tree removal professional if you’ll need a permit. If you do, you can expect to pay between $50 and $150 for the permit alone. Your tree removal company should pull the permit for you and include the permit fee in your total.

You should avoid cutting off the top of mature cherry trees. This process is called tree topping, and it’s not recommended for cherry trees—or any trees, for that matter. Tree topping removes between one-third to half of the length of the tree trunk, resulting in structurally unsound, fruitless suckers. The only exception is for saplings. Young pie, sour, and tart cherry trees that are over 30 inches tall in the fall or winter before the tree blooms can benefit from heading cuts.

Trees don’t usually grow back after being cut down. Some particularly robust tree species may start sending up new stems from a stump to recover, but those stems won’t become a “tree” like before. Generally, trees don’t recover from being entirely cut down, which is why it’s important to be careful when making a decision. When you cut down a tree, it’s a good idea to make plans to remove the stump, even if it’s unlikely to grow back.

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.
