"Horrible. I took photos of the chair at drop off, showing n marks or stains. The original quote was $38, then at pickup $145. A pickup, my chair had glue all over the fabric all over the chair and black oily spots all over the fabric as well. These are not small...dime and quarter size and bigger. I had one big splash of glue across the entire side on one side of chair. I refused to take the chair and asked them to make it right. They claim they never promised a clean chair and arm was fixed. They tried not to accept responsibility, but I showed them photos of the chair at drop-off in their warehouse, immaculate. So I left chair and came back after the weekend with some left over material from the last time I had this family heirloom re-upholstered. I asked if it was enough to fix those areas and then clean some other areas because the fabric cleaners said the glue wouldn't come out. He wouldn't discuss with us and continued to scream at me to take the chair. ...he was doing nothing. That is his quote. I have audio of our conversation. He also told me to sue him since he is retiring at the end of the year. He got in my face and slammed a door on me, He even tried to leave and told me if we didn't move our truck he would ram into it. He was crazed and angry that I wouldn't take the chair and leave him alone. My husband could take no more and we took the damaged chair home. This is a chair that is so special to us and now I guess I have to come up with 1-thousand dollars to have it reupholstered somewhere else. He did nothing to correct all of the damage. I have tons of photos to show this."

Chalk paint can be applied without sanding first. Keep in mind that while there are a lot of chalk paint color options available, there aren’t as many choices as latex or oil-based paint.

You can also learn how to paint furniture without sanding using a liquid deglosser, sometimes referred to as liquid sandpaper. Vinegar won’t strip the wood stain from your wood, but it can help remove a different type of stain. If you’re dealing with food stains or trying to remove water rings on your wood, you can use a little olive oil and vinegar (mixed equally) to remove those stains without stripping your actual wood stain. Just rub the solution in the direction of the wood grain, let it sit, and then wipe it away with a damp towel.
