"Really well. Billy Stockwell, who was in charge, was great. He was professional and easy to work with. He supervised several different crews from project start to finish and was onsite frequently. The crews and painter were also professional and thorough despite working outside in miserable weather. Over all we are thrilled with the final product. The project went over by a couple of months, but mostly I believe that was due to unforeseen circumstances requiring changes to the original plan. My husband and I highly recommend this company."

"Customer service, quality, trustworthy and dependable are just a few words that come to mind when I think of Eric and Joel. We were in need of having our front porch replaced due to rotting wood, which was creating some safety issues. I had Eric and some other bidders come out and look at the job and as soon as I met Eric I felt very comfortable in entrusting him in handling our project. Of course, the pricing had to be right and to my delight, it was. After selecting Eric to perform the work, he was very easy to communicate with in terms of setting up the dates of the job and even our last minute changes to the work. He was very responsive, which was a huge benefit for me, especially since my work schedule can be hectic at times. He made the process very easy! As for the work, I was actually out of town on business the days that he and Joel completed the work, so my Wife was my eyes and ears as I was away. My Wife loved them and admits that she probably annoyed them with all her questions As for the finished product, we couldnt be happier! In my opinion, Eric and Joel are genuine guys that truly take pride in what they do and will do whatever it takes to satisfy their customers. I highly recommend them for any project that you are looking to get done. Thanks again guys!"

"We had an emergency job that had to be completed on a fairly quick timeline. Alexander contacted me within minutes of my request for help. His company completed the job to our complete satisfaction. They we’re good at communicating and performed the work like real pros. We plan of having them back for future projects."

Patio Covers FAQs, answered by experts

Awnings offer a variety of materials to choose from, each of which has its own benefits. Cotton is a lower-cost option that’s also more eco-friendly because it’s made from natural materials, while acrylic-coated polyester and vinyl offer better durability against harsh weather. Fiberglass and metal are also resilient to weather, although metal can be vulnerable to corrosion without protective sealant. Ultimately, you’ll need to consider your climate and your budget in deciding the best material for your awning.

Awnings can be a serious investment for homeowners, particularly if it features a motorized and retractable design. Protect the exterior of your home by choosing a reliable and reputable contractor. Do some research ahead of time to get an idea of the potential contractor’s strengths and weaknesses. Don’t hesitate to give them a call to discuss specifics.

Besides the type of awning, you’ll need to choose the type of cover. Your awning installation professional will review your options with you, including availability and costs. The types of covers you can choose from include:

  • Wood, which is durable but can be damaged easily by rainwater and fire

  • Cotton offers flexibility, weatherproofing, and easy cleaning

  • Canvas is highly durable and is a good choice for retractable awnings

  • Metal is sturdy but is prone to rust

  • Polyester is easy to clean and is a more breathable option

  • Polycarbonate is highly resistant to UV rays and is difficult to damage

Aluminum patio roofs can make noise during rainstorms, though how much noise they make depends on how heavy it’s raining and if the roof is insulated or not. Light rain falling on your roof might sound soothing but if you live in an area with serious and consistent rainfall, the novelty of the sound might wear off. In any case, the rain you'll hear shouldn't sound louder than a normal conversation or air conditioner, about 50 dB to 55 dB.

On average, awning costs range from $1,400 to $4,400. The low end of the cost range can be around $100 up to $7,500 on the high end. Cost factors include the type of awning, size, and location. Portable awnings are the most affordable and DIY-friendly to install, costing $100 to $400. Larger, motorized awnings tend to be more solidly built, ranging in price from $2,000 to $3,500.
