Replacing a main water shut-off valve costs anywhere from $300 to $1,000, or more depending on your project’s specifications. You’ll need to replace the shut-off valve if the size of the pipe changes (as is common with trenchless replacement) or the material used in the new pipes isn’t compatible with the valve.

If the outside temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it will take around six hours for your pipes to freeze—and they might even burst. That’s why keeping your mobile home’s temperature around 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary, even if you’re leaving it vacant for the winter. In addition, having ample skirting around the mobile home's underbelly will help keep pipes insulated during the winter. 

Constant problems with plumbing throughout the home may point toward the plumbing vent being the culprit. If a blockage or clog occurs in the plumbing vent, it can quickly lead to the entire plumbing system throughout the home failing. Tackle clogs as soon as they happen, and if it’s a constant problem, bring in a local plumber to look at repairs.

Be on the lookout for multiple points of the plumbing system causing problems, such as if there’s a strong scent coming from the home or if you notice the plumbing vent on the roof is damaged.

  • High water pressure: High water pressure is hard on pipes over time and can cause cracks and leaks, too.
