Very well!. I have worked with many contractors over the past 4 years. He by far is the best I have dealt with in customer service. He does what he says and he always answers his phone. We had started painting the trim on our one story home with some peaks. We thought we would be able to the peaks, but then we thought it best after all to let a professional do it. We had already painted the garage door and downspouts. I had contacted three different contractors before him for estaments. One was from a business card given to me. He had me send picture of the job. gave me an estimate without coming out. something we were not comfortable with. Wasn't real thrilled how he responded when we asked for insurance verification. so ruled him out I contacted another through BBB . She hung up on me when I asked for proof of coverage and said I was rude. I contacted CertaPro of Bartlett and When I set up the appt. I asked if they had a minimum job amount they said no that this contractor did not show there was a minimum. so I got a call from CetrtaPro and when I was explaining the job for the estimate he said that it was too small of a job. I felt he should have backed up what I told on the phone and come out give the estimate anyway since I was misinformed. That did not happen. Poor customer service in my opinion. I called two others on Angies list with A to A+ ratings. One said they were pretty busy but if I had the ladder to do it he would send his brother out to do it. Not sure what professional would ask you to supply the ladder from the get go. The other one never returned the phone call after I left a message. I call Old Tyme. He came out gave the estimate and had the job done same week. Most professional I have dealt with since moving to the area.

I can not say enough nice things about Richard or his worker David. Richard is probably the nicest man I have ever spoken with in my life. He came out looked at my home I showed him all the rotting wood on the home he took very detailed notes told me what it was going to take to fix everything. He did not beat around the bush, he did not try to up sale me on anything he refused to take any money up front and told me his motto talk is cheap show me what you can do and sticks by that. He fixed all the rotten wood on the outside of my home and painted it. The house looks amazing the fresh paint gives it a whole new look and feel, it looks AMAZING! While he was out doing a final inspection of the outside I asked him to take a look at the inside to see about paining my kitchen and my kids bathroom he quickly gave me a quote and started to work on the inside the next day. The house is amazing on the inside and out it feels like a brand new home. Richard will always have my business he treats you like a person and just wants you to be happy and he sticks by that and does an absolutely amazing job. David his worker is delightful very personal and pretty much has become part of our family with all the work he did for us. I am truly pleased with everything Richard did and could not have asked for a better job. Richard is an absolutely amazing person on the inside and out and thank him for everything he did for us. His work speaks for itself.

Mr Vanover was very good. He was on time and professional. He replaced rotten wood and painted home. He did everything he was suppose to do. Also, he painted both the exterior and interior of my husbands business. All the employees were happy with the offices new look! He didn't and awesome job and we would highly recommend him.

Richard did everything he said he would do. Kept me updated on the schedule and made sure I was satisfied thought the process and at completion. Job was done timely without issue and the house looks great. It is nice to do business with a man like Richard and to have the piece of mind that the job will be done right and know he will be there to stand behind his work.

We had our house on the market and needed some rotten wood/siding replaced. Richard promptly came out and gave me a very reasonable estimate. He did not try to upsell us for things we didn't need done like other contractors did. He understood what we needed and the timeframe involved. Victor quickly came out and began working on the wood. The rest of the crew finished up within a few days and it helped us sell our home. They were very clean, polite, and always communicated with us on the progress. Richard gives a quote for only labor and gives you receipts for the product(wood/paint/caulk) to reimburse him. No mark-up on the product. We will use them in the future.

Dealing with Mr. Vanover was a frustrating challenge. When he first inspected my home to provide an estimate, he suggested that we consider not doing a full exterior repainting since our paint had held up well on many areas of the house. He said that the job would entail power-washing the house, spray painting the back side where the paint was weathered and there were many siding seams to be caulked, and then only painting additional areas that had been repaired or re-caulked. Mr. Vanover provided a rough worksheet estimate that was difficult to decipher and provided no details to how the estimate was calculated. It was just one price with the Angie's List discount already factored in (or so he said). Based on this initial estimate ($3,500) we hired this company to do the work. I then had to email the estimate sheets to Mr. Vanover as he informed us he could only locate one page of the estimate. He also spoke with my husband by telephone and agreed to come over one evening at 6:30 p.m. with paint samples to confirm that we would have a good color match. He never showed up or called that evening. When he called a couple of days later, my husband asked what happened and it was evident that he had no recollection of the earlier discussion with my husband. Since he didn't recall telling us he would be coming by, he did not see a need to apologize for standing us up. When Vanover showed up with a crew to start the job, they brought no materials with them: no lumber or PVC-board, no caulk, no nails, no paint. This did not concern us since we expected, based on our several discussions with Mr. Vanover, that the first step would be to power-wash the house. When my husband and I heard hammering and wood being torn off our soffits, I asked Mr. Vanover why he was not power-washing the house before starting his tear-off of rotten trim. Mr. Vanover then informed me that this was a "carpentry job" and not a "painting job" and power-washing was not included in the estimate. (I still can't believe he was telling me that his crew planned to caulk and paint over dirt on my siding and trim areas!) When I reminded him that we always understood washing to be part of the job, he told me that he needed to speak to my husband (apparently the "mansplaining" was not going too well). When my husband came out to speak to Mr. Vanover, he quickly offered to have his crew do the power-wash "for free." Mr. Vanover then showed me an additional estimate he and his carpenter had prepared when they arrived that morning for $1,800. As with the first estimate, this was barely legible worksheet scribble with a total dollar amount only. When I asked how he arrived at this additional amount, he told me that he does not cheat people. When I asked Mr. Vanover to walk around the house with me and show me the various items identified as needing work and confirm which estimate included these items, he basically ignored my request. He also could not persuasively explain to me why all these additional repairs were not seen by him when he provided the initial estimate. Mr. Vanover provided verbal assurances that anything else that might be found that needed work would be "free." His written estimate, however, failed to include this promise that the new price of $5,300. was a firm amount for labor on this job. We also learned from Mr. Vanover that this job no longer included spray painting at least the back of the house, but instead only brushing over caulk seams or areas of repair. When I showed Mr. Vanover that his initial estimate specified spray painting he proceeded to try to cross that out as if he was "correcting" the estimate. Oh yes, and then he would tell you again that he does not cheat people -- and that our power-wash was "free." We found that Mr. Vanover was very quick to make promises about how work would be done which he failed to confirm in his written estimates. We felt this company used a "bait and switch" sales tactic in which the cost of labor increased drastically while the work to be included was substantially reduced.

Richard was very responded quickly and was very clear about the details of the project. Cost of the project was very competitive. Victor and his crew did a fantastic job with the repair. Excellent carpentry and paint while enduring the very challenging conditions of working high up on a hot roof with occasional rain. Exceeded my expectations.

Richard Vanover came to my home and gave me a written estimate , very detailed, outlining exactly what he proposed to do, how much material, and the cost as well as his personal guarantee. I made the decision to use his company for my badly needed repairs. The workers were skilled. They knew exactly what they were doing.They matched my siding paint exactly. They did a beautiful job, very well done, cleaned up the work area. I would recommend using this company and I would use them again without hesitation.

As the project went on, there were some additional areas of rot and damage, which Richard took care of...he did not charge anything on top of his original estimate. He did not ask me for money up front. I did have some minor issues with the finished job, but Richard was very quick to acknowledge them and get it corrected. I have had some bad experiences with prior contractors - this was my best experience, by far.

It went well! They were competitively priced, did a great job on the work, and were very easy to communicate with. They were very responsive to our calls and were able to work within our budget. We were very pleased with the results.

Work went well and was done in two days. Painted rough cedar siding and RBB siding on two story house by spraying. Workers were punctual, pleasant and professional. Replaced some mismatched board siding. Advised me where to get paint color matched to original outdated paint color Job looks very good. Price was highest bid but awarded based on professionalism and the Extra details observed and promised.

They did a GREAT job. They washed the outside of the house then once it was dry they came back and started replacing the bad wood on the house and did a great job. Then they glazed the windows and started painting. I ask for a couple of extra things and they did not blink an eye to do them for me and did not charge me a dime more. Richard was such a great person to work with and the guy's paint did a great job and a lot of good guys.

Richard came out promptly after I called to inquire and gave a detailed specific estimate. Richards crew started work very timely. Removed rotted wood from many areas of very large house and replaced with new wood. Painted entire house and shed attached, and gave many extras. For example-tall indoor stairwell and walls as well as doors to garage . Very friendly,professional people to work with. The project went smoothly--colors all perfectly matched. I will call again for indoor painting needs. Excellent job there too. A+ on customer service.

This was an excellent experience. Very skilled professional carpentry and painting. They took great pride in their work with attention to the fine details making the final result outstanding. Got off to a slow start, but I am going to blame it on a very raining spring. I was very impressed with the quaility of work and the attention to detail. Richard is "old school"...only one way to do it...THE RIGHT WAY. I was kept up with the progess and details during the job. This job was done in sections...I noticed a real problem, but I soon became aware of many other issues. Since I had a good man engaged I decided to bite the bullet and get it ALL done right. I am glad I did.

I did not have to wait long between getting a quote and getting started with the work. Richard and his team did a very professional job of replacing wood that had to be cut at an angle to run along the roofline. I was very pleased with the quality of the work, how quickly they completed it, and the clean up afterward. I would definitely recommend this business to friends and would use them again myself.
