"Brett arrived in reasonable time and was able to install my new tank water heater in about 2 1/2 hours. He had to modify the vent pipe to make it fit, but was successful. Brett is very knowledgeable, personable, and professional - and is definitely worth your consideration in hiring for whatever your plumbing needs might be."

"We used Mitchell and his team to redo and redesign a large front flower bed. It turned out so great that we also had him install sod, trees and do a full irrigation system for us. Mitchell is professional, creative with his ideas and has fair pricing. We are so pleased with his everything turned out and would highly recommend Mitchell and his team!!"

"Installation was on schedule.  He came out multiple times to adjust the lighting, as it's difficult to point lights exactly in the right direction during the day.  He came out after dark to fine tune the lighting.  He also came out several times to help us with the two controls when we re-set them (or tried) for daylight savings time.  Today is Feb 25 and he just came to the house once more to help us with the controls, so followup service is commendable.

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

If you've discovered a rather frightening buildup of brown and black gunk below your shower cover, you're not alone. The smelly sludge is often a collection of mildew and biofilm. Biofilm comes from the breakdown of soap scum, hair, skin cells, and bacteria that collects during shower time. It's quite common in a humid space and relatively easy to clean with a gentle DIY cleaning solution such as baking soda and vinegar.

The cost to unclog a drain varies based on the location and severity of the clog. For simple clogs within your home, such as in a sink, toilet, or shower, hiring a plumber typically costs between $110 and $350, with an average of around $200. Snaking a toilet or sink usually costs between $110 and $275, while a bathtub or shower clog costs about $225.

For a more serious clog in the main sewer line, the cost is higher. Clearing a main line clog generally costs between $200 and $600, with an average of about $380. However, prices can range from as low as $100 for snaking a minor clog to over $1,600, particularly if advanced methods like video inspection and hydrojetting are needed for a large or hard-to-reach blockage. Some severe main line clogs can cost upwards of $1,000 to clear depending on factors like the cause of the clog, its distance from an accessible cleanout, and whether the pipe is located beneath an occupied space (e.g., in an apartment building). You may be able to save money on minor clogs by using a drain snake or bladder yourself.

No. You should never pour old paint down a drain or sewer because it can clog pipes and pollute the environment. You must dispose of paint properly and safely. Different types of paint need to be disposed of in different ways—oil-based paints must be taken to a paint recycling center, while you can throw dried-out water- or latex-based paints in the garbage.

Professional plumbers use many high-grade chemicals to unclog drains. Many use hydrochloric acid, known as muriatic acid, when it comes to extreme blockages.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.
