"Affordable Heating and cooling out of Paris. Gave us bid May to replace ductwork Posting this so others know. They gave us a bid months ago, missed the first 3 scheduled installs, said they had an accident on the 4th scheduled and said they would install in June. Here it is July and still no install. What kind of business does not honor their own words?? They do not return calls, text or voicemail. Its really sad since they are family owned. We have been patient in waiting but this is crazy. 731-336-7519 Joe @ Affordable"

Heating Oil questions, answered by experts

An evaporator or swamp cooler is a common alternative for small spaces. These coolers blow moist air into a space to help cool it down. They are more affordable than misters and use much less water. However, coolers will not have the same cooling effect as misters, cannot help plants survive the heat, and only reach a small area.

If a geothermal heat pump is installed correctly, then you shouldn’t have to worry about having a backup heat source such as a furnace or oil boiler. However, there are geothermal systems installed that include a backup in case the heat pump fails due to extreme cold. This is simply a backup heat pump you’ll likely never need and not an alternative heat source.

There are several common types of HVAC systems that you may have, including split systems, hybrid HVAC, duct-free systems, packaged heating and air, geothermal heating, or even portable units for heating or cooling. If you aren’t sure which type is in your home or are looking to install something different, you should consult an HVAC pro to determine which option is right for your heating and cooling needs.

Regular inspections, loop flushing, and checking heat exchangers help extend system lifespan.

Service costs range from $200 to $1,500, depending on maintenance needs, system age, and labor.
