Description of Work: I was referred to him by my Primary Care Provider who sent me immediately to see him on the same day. He saw me immediately and continues to see me now. I was and have been totally impressed by his caring personality. He does not rush you in and out of the office. He takes the time to sit and talk to you and allow you to ask as many questions as you need to. Because of his excellent care I am doing well today. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Szatkowski to anyone that ask.

Description of Work: The Stern Cardiovascular Clinic is excellent but from time to time they are slow in responding to request from other Dr's office, because as a cardiac patient I have to have my Cardiologist approval to have any procedure done by other physicians. I have been a patient of theirs since August, 2013. I do not think I could go to another clinic and feel as good as I do not.

+ 0 moreDr. Arie Szatkowski is my cardiologist at Stern Cardiovascular Center. They are friendly, efficient. Dr. Szatkowski is just awesome. They are pretty effective with keep everything working right. I would rate them highly. I would use them again in the future.

+ -1 moreShe is rated as one of the best doctors in the area. I consult her once in 6 months and she is upfront. If you call and there is a problem, she fits you in immediately and the office environment is wonderful. I have never waited for more than 10 minutes and that’s a miracle. Her bedside manner is straight forward. She never sugar coats and nails you down. She is very fast and I wouldn’t know she has finished the operation also. The office staff is great and the waiting room is pleasant. I will use her again in the future.

+ -1 moreDr. assured me that the treatment would end my leg pain (lower leg) with a 98% success rate. I was asked to sign a release form while on the procedure table, not before. Procedure started out badly when the nurse had a bad flu and spread germs all over while not using a mask. I ended up with a 2 month case of the flu. Once started, Dr. informed me that my greater sapphenous vein (the one being treated) was actually two veins. He also told me my vein was very twisted and hard to deal with. Why couldn't he see this prior while doing ultrasound? He actually had to send out for a "slippery" catheter to use. Once home, my lower leg pain became excruciating pain all the way from my thigh to ankle, and remains that way today. I also have a large "rope" in my leg where the vein was closed off. On a follow-up visit to the Dr., I told him all this. He informed me that it doesn't work in about 10% of cases, didn't have any further suggestions, and there was nothing else he would do. Beware - this guy is a procedure pusher, and not out for the best interest of the patient.
Description of Work: Endovenous laser ablation therapy (vein treatment). Supposed to treat leaking leg veins. A catheter and laser are insetred in the ankleand pushed up to the top of the thigh. The laser is used to close the greater sapphenous vein and a foam is injected to fill it up.
