"I was selling my home and the home inspector found a window glass that needed replacing. I contacted HomeAdvisor and selected Dacus Glass to make the repair. The contractor responded promptly, measured the glass and gave me a quote. He stayed in contact with me while the glass was on order. Once it was received, he promptly installed it. I was very pleased with his service."

"Charlie and Jeff were very professional and friendly. They arrived as scheduled and went directly to business on cleaning all windows inside and out. Our house was vacant for a period of time before we purchased it. The previous owners were cigarette smokers and smoked inside for 20 years. After we cleaned, repainted, replaced all light fixtures and appliances, we finally called Gridley Window Cleaning Services. They made these windows look like new again. I intend to use them again on a routine basis! 😁 Debbie and Mark Voorhis"

"I had a great experience with this window tinting company! Ian came out to my home and tinted two larger windows—one at the front entry and one at the rear. The estimate was very reasonable, and I felt confident moving forward right away. We had to adjust the schedule a couple of times due to my work commitments, but Ian was incredibly communicative and flexible throughout the process. The quality of the work was excellent, and his professionalism really stood out. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for residential window tinting!"

"The installers were great. The salesperson made promises that he did not keep and he missed a window. When the person came to measure he also didn’t catch that I was having all my windows done except one. The windows look great. The response when I notified the co that one window was missed was very fast but added to my cost."

"I had the windows and shutters painted. David and his team completed the work to a high standard at a reasonable price. They were very friendly and proactively identified and resolved minor issues as part of the original work. I highly recommend 901 Service."
If you have a problem with your window, such as broken glass, minor leaks, or a problem with your window being stuck, repairing the broken part might be a cheaper option than replacing the entire window. However, if you have a deteriorating window frame or major leaks, buying a new window will be the better long-term solution.
Window replacement can become costly, especially if you’re replacing your whole home. There are a few steps you can take to help save money on the bottom cost while still giving your windows a facelift.
Replace multiple windows at once to bundle your purchase
Inquire about discounts, coupons, or special offers
Consider window repair as soon as you see damage to help prevent the need for replacement
Maintain your windows often by inspecting your windows for drafts, leaks, and cracks
There are certain window repairs that are cost-effective to DIY and relatively simple for homeowners to tackle themselves. Tasks like replacing a screen, replacing a lock, or sealing a window are typically under $30 and take minimal time to do yourself. However, if you need to replace your window or repair a broken double pane, it’s best to call in a professional window replacement installer to lend a hand. Replacing the majority or all of the windows in your home is a time consuming job and best left to a professional.
Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.
The time it takes to replace a window is a total of four to 15 weeks. This time includes your initial consultation, appointments for measuring, as well as ordering and manufacturing your windows. For a smaller job, you can expect the total timeline to be on the shorter end, but for a whole house window replacement, it might take longer (or be split into multiple install appointments). Once your windows are created and ready to be installed, your window installer will take 30 to 60 minutes per window to install.
