Customers say: True professional

"We used Mitchell and his team to redo and redesign a large front flower bed. It turned out so great that we also had him install sod, trees and do a full irrigation system for us. Mitchell is professional, creative with his ideas and has fair pricing. We are so pleased with his everything turned out and would highly recommend Mitchell and his team!!"

"They are a fantastic group of people to deal with. I never have to call them out a second time to fix anything. I have also used them at my personal residence and they came out at 8:30 at night to replace receptacles. They didn't charge me because I ave done so much work with them in the past. I would never call anyone else!"

"Within days of purchasing the deal, I received the instructions and paper to draw my table templates. The table has 2 drop leaves plus 2 additional leaves that can be inserted in the table. The templates were pretty easy to draw. The finished pads were delivered in a very short time. They fit the table and each of the 4 leaves perfectly and magnetically lock together to keep them aligned when on the table. A year and a half later, I still love these pads."

"Everything went great! Patrick and his team leader talked me thru each step. We made adjustments from the original estimate but that was fine. They showed up on time every day; it took about 4.5 days. They took care of small details for me like painting the light box and drainage extensions so they blended with my house. They planted some plants I had purchased separately. They even cleaned their work area at the end of each day. Patrick was easily accessible and came out late one night to check the lighting set up, showed me how to adjust it, and added some stepping stones to my walkway. He offered very practical advice and seemed to always be one step ahead. Because of the extreme heat, he agreed to come back in a couple weeks and check the plantings and replace any that didn't make it. He provided a detailed estimate on the front end and kept to that plan with the few additions. He was very professional and I believe he delivered incredible value on my project. Great work by Patrick and his team on this very large job!! My home is now the envy of many of my neighbors! :) I will definately call on him again!"

"Will was very eager to help me with my lighting issue. He came out to look at it and said he could fix it on the spot for a very reasonable price. He also cleaned up the other lights and replaced all my bulbs which wasn't even part of the deal. It was obvious he wanted my business and I would recommend Will for any work to any home."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

The five common types of landscape lighting are up-lighting, down-lighting, spotlights, built-in lighting, and pathway lighting.

  • Up-lighting casts light upwards from the ground, mostly for aesthetic purposes.

  • Down-lighting directs light onto the ground, lighting pathways, or outdoor space.

  • Spotlights cast direct, focused lighting in any direction.

  • Built-in lighting integrates lighting into an outdoor feature.

  • Pathway lighting illuminates walkways, increasing safety.

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

You can use outdoor electrical outlets to conveniently power landscaping equipment such as electrical lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers. From a recreational standpoint, outdoor outlets are handy for powering electric grills, mini-fridges, and stereos. They're also helpful when it's time to string Christmas lights on your home and around your property.

The cost to repair a short circuit depends on the type of repair. A faulty outlet or simple loose wire can be a simple fix that might only cost a handful of dollars. For example, if you need to rewire a house, you’ll spend around $2 to $4 per square foot, but replacing an entire electrical panel costs anywhere from $500 to $2,100.

Between seasons, inspect cords for damage, replace burnt-out bulbs, and clean lighting fixtures to prevent dirt buildup. Proper storage in cool, dry conditions will extend the lights' lifespan and minimize repairs or replacements when redeployed.
