"Mr. O’Grady gave me a quote that actually reflected the final cost and was able to perform the work at a convenient time for me. The completed work looks good and functions properly and the work area was left clean and tidy after completion of the work. If I need electrical work in the future I will surely consider O’Grady Electric as a service provider."

"These guys were 1/4 the price (honestly 4 times less$) of 2 other estimates! They cared about me - the small peanut customer - that just needed a two hour fixture install! I wasn't the BIG MONEY job that the others care only about. Dont bother with ANY other electricians except AllStar Electric (these guys) Cleveland! Cole showed up on time and even gave me a credit! Thanks Cole! Praise God!"

"We'll they did a good job on the electrical panel but they gutted out my dry wall and told me they would come back and mud the drywall and they never came back I had to hire someone else to fix my drywall. They never offered a time to cone back and finish; I took them for their word. I did not feel led to call them to remind them since he insisted that he would be back."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

On average, it takes from four to eight hours to replace an outside electrical meter box, not including rewiring. It will take a few more hours if the project requires pros to do any rewiring work. Consult your local electrician about a time estimate for your specific project.

Upgrading your amp service could possibly be a solution to tripped breakers. Circuit breakers in an electrical panel trip as a safety measure when something goes wrong with the current, and that’s often caused by plugged-in devices trying to draw too much current. Replacing the electrical panel with a new model and new breakers designed for higher amps can fix this problem.

The average lifespan of a home electrical system is anywhere from 30 to 70 years or more, depending on the type of system you have. Modern electrical wiring, like aluminum or copper, can last 50 to 70 years while older types may need to be replaced sooner. Additionally, circuit breakers tend to last anywhere from 30 to 40 years, while electrical outlets need to be replaced every 10 to 25 years.

Yes, wire connectors are the better option for securing splices compared to electrical tape. It is not recommended to use electrical tape as it is not secure enough to keep the splices together. Plus, electrical tape is more vulnerable to damage, which can cause a risk of fire over time.

While the National Electrical Code (NEC) does not set a strict limit, a common guideline is to have a maximum of eight outlets or receptacles on a 15-amp circuit. This rule of thumb, which equates to about one outlet per 1.5 amps, helps keep the total electrical load safely below 80% of the circuit breaker's capacity. It is important to consider the power demands of any devices or appliances that will be plugged in, as overloading a circuit can lead to tripped breakers or create a fire hazard. To ensure the safety and code compliance of your electrical system, consult with a licensed electrician.
