"I canâ t say enough about this company. I have hired them to complete 3 projects for me in the last 3 months and I am above satisfied with all of them. A privacy fence that they completed in 2 days. They tore out the old chain link and had my new privacy fence up before I moved in with my dogs!!!ð ¥° They built me a new deck out front that is amazing, safe and classy in 2 days. Exactly what I wanted. Great communication. We had to make a few changes to the original plan because I wanted larger steps. It went as smooth as it could have been.ð ¥° I highly recommend Anglin Handyman to all!!ð ¥°"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

The best way to store firewood is outdoors and away from your home, shed, or garage. Stacking wood against your house can be a fire hazard and attract unwanted pests. Store your firewood under a shelter where it's protected from rain and snow but still exposed to sunlight and open air. You can lay a tarp on top to help keep moisture out.

One of the best ways to know your chimney is good to go on any given night is to simply look up into your flue with a flashlight. If you see a thick buildup of creosote—a shiny, dark substance that looks like tar—it’s best to have your fireplace professionally cleaned before you go ahead with the burn. Additionally, having your fireplace professionally inspected once per year can also help increase your peace of mind and keep your family and your home safe.

To stop a smoke alarm from chirping, you must first determine what the device is alerting you to. If your battery is out or has been removed, simply change the battery and the chirping should stop. If it does not, try resetting the alarm, checking the breaker, or calling a professional to take a look.

Your local town or municipality’s fire code and other applicable ordinances will set out the requirements for installing and maintaining a private fire hydrant. These rules can vary from place to place, so it’s crucial to consult with your town’s fire or code enforcement departments before you install a private hydrant on any property you own. Alternatively, you can hire a professional fire service consultant to help you interpret local laws and ensure you’re fully compliant with those requirements.

Glass block windows aren’t fire hazards; fire-rated glass block windows can increase your home’s fire safety. Modern glass blocks are made with materials that can resist high temperatures and prevent fire spread. Most offer a 45-minute fire rating, while some increase it to two hours. Compared to the typical 20 to 90 minute rating for a double-pane window, glass block can increase your home’s safety in the event of a fire.
