Customers say: True professional

"After considering many options for re-doing our existing natural oak kitchen cabinets, we hired Vitaliy to paint them white. We used all our original cabinets and doors, except that he suggested installing larger crown modeling, which made a huge difference in the appeal of our kitchen. He also suggested bumping out the cabinet above our microwave, which also added much character. As a part of the process, he switched all doors to hidden, soft close hinges, and installed soft close mechanisms on all drawers. Finally, we asked him to install pull-outs on a couple of our lower cabinets. He did a tremendous job, and it was so affordable that we also had him re-finish our fiberglass front door to match our overhead garage doors, finish and install new bi-fold doors in our entryway, and refinish a window seat in one of our bedrooms. We are very picky, and asked Vitality to make some minor adjustments and touch-ups to the work, which he did wonderfully, and to our total satisfaction. Vitaliy provides a tremendous combination of quality work and affordability. We are so very thankful that we found him!"

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

The cost of bathroom cabinets is $550 on average. You could spend as low as $330 or as much as $42,000 or more, depending on the cabinet size and the type of cabinet you choose.

Stock bathroom cabinets are the most cost-effective option, ranging from $40 to $500 on average. Semi-custom bathroom cabinets range from about $500 to $800 per unit (without installation costs) and offer a wider variety of door and drawer styles than stock cabinets. Custom cabinets range from $700 to $1,000 or more per unit before installation costs.

DIY is possible, but professional assembly ensures proper alignment, stability, and cable management.

As a homeowner, there are a few things you can do to prepare for your cabinet installer. Once the cabinets are ready for your home, you can do the following:

  • Ensure pets are safely in another room, out of the way of open doors and large moving objects.

  • Clear countertops for removal.

  • Tidy the floor the installers will walk through and around.

  • Prepare to have the installers in your home for the entire day, for multiple days, until the project is done. Expect to have a noisy environment, especially if they will remove old, existing cabinets.

There are some tips when hiring a cabinet installer that’ll help prepare you to create a new space. When installing new cabinets, keep the following in mind:

  • Hire the same cabinet installer professional to measure, design, and install the cabinets, as opposed to jumping between companies.

  • Discuss what types of cabinets the installer offers, including stock, semi-custom, and custom, to give yourself options.

  • Discuss financing options with your installer, as this project can be expensive depending on your chosen cabinets.

  • Discuss your cabinet installer’s prior experience, including asking for photos of previous projects.

It’s best to stick with lightweight cabinets, such as medium-density fiberboard, if you don’t have a wall stud to secure them to. Unless you’re attaching the cabinet to a flat board attached to wall studs, it’s best not to risk it with heavy cabinetry or contents. Solid wood cabinets and heavy dishware should be avoided if you cannot secure the cabinet to a wall stud. Either way, always check the weight on your wall anchors and be sure not to exceed it.
