"I wish I could give Innovative Basement Authority a negative rating. Run away from this company as fast as you can. Beware- they are changing their name to Ground Works. Probably because of all the negative reviews. We paid a substantial amount of money to install one of their basement systems after having water problems. The initial sales guy was a very high-pressure seller, trying to get us to sign a contract the same day he came out. Fast forward a year. They told us they needed to come out for an inspection. The sales guy ?found? $40,000 work of additional work that was ?urgent?. He used scare-tactics and tried to convince us we needed to sign on the dotted line immediately. Because of course mold is going to make my family sick. It seemed sketchy to me, but I was able to get the guy to leave without us signing that day. I immediately called our trusted home inspector, and he said the sales guy was trying to sell us things we did not need. He also said he had talked to others"

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

In fact, a conventional boiler works best if your home already has a water heater system in place. Sometimes a boiler can be combined with indirect water heaters. Going from a tank to a tankless water heater is one of the most effective ways to lower your utility bills. If your water heater is about to celebrate the big 2-0, you may want to consider sending it off to greener pastures. If your water heater is 20 years or older, your best move is to replace your aging heater before it completely breaks down.

You don’t have to replace expansion tanks at the same time as your hot water heater. You may be able to go six to 12 years or more before needing to replace your expansion tank. At $150 to $450, hot water heater expansion tanks are usually much more affordable than the cost of hot water tanks themselves, which average about $1,190.

If you’re having problems with your hot water heater and it’s 10 to 15 years old—the typical life span of a gas hot water heater—you may want to consider replacing it rather than repairing it. Water heater replacement costs about $1,300 on average. If your water heater is younger than nine or 10 years, paying for repairs is most likely worth it. You can always have a plumber assess your fixture to see what it would cost to fix it and then decide if it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace it.
