Hardy's owner Chad Leddy grew up in Watertown SD and has been contracting for over 10 years. As the industry has grown so has Chad and his staff. Polymer coatings are very durable and cost efficient but take a lot of knowledge and experience to use them and apply them correctly. Through the years we have continued to educate ourselves and have been certified in many manufactures products and application techniques. Underlayment is the barrier between the concrete floor and the hardwood flooring. Adding this barrier is a vital step when installing hardwood over concrete, and it’s essential for protecting the wood from moisture coming from the concrete. It is not advisable to pour concrete directly on dirt. Even compacted soil—known as a subgrade—is not strong enough to maintain the form of concrete. You can, however, pour concrete over concrete as long as the overlay has proper bonding agents and the slab below is clear of damage.
