"We spent months trying to find someone to fix a leak in our Koi Pond. John with Fairview called after my Angi posting. He scoped out the job within two days, gave us an estimate, and a date. The work was done on time and the end result is the pond is working again, but the rebuilt waterfall looks even better than it did before. Where we are, reliable contractors are not the norm. Fairview is one."

So apparently at @ 2 yrs old I took things apart like vacuum cleaners etc. But also put them back together. Now 36, i still take things apart but I don't always put them back. Having a metal shop, electronics bay ,a print shop and an ever growing small construction company at my disposal, not to mention an absolutely talented artist , I almost always find a better, simpler way of solving a problem. Hence how Halo Services LLC ( named after the 22 degree, or moon halo ) was formed. It seems no matter what the problem I was destined to get in the middle of it. And as it turned out,I learned to see the gifts and talents of other people, allowing my employees to give their input and contribute greatly to Halo's success. Think you've seen it all? Our patent lawyers haven't. So why does an electronics major get into landscaping? Love of heavy equipment, the outdoors, people and the amazing result that happens from the clients imagination and a little problem solving.

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Smaller, pondless water features like bird baths, self-contained fountains, and bubbling rocks are much lower maintenance than their counterparts that include ponds. Pondless features help you avoid high pond maintenance costs and allow you to spend more time enjoying the water feature and less time on upkeep.

A good rule of thumb is to change 5% to 15% of your koi pon’s water every week. Partial water changes help keep your koi healthy, and replacing small amounts at a time prevents causing stress for the fish.

To maintain your pond, you’ll need to occasionally clean your backyard pond, especially if you have koi fish. Test the water twice a week to make sure your fish have everything they need and always remove visible debris.

DIY kits exist, but professional installation ensures proper filtration, landscaping, and leak-proof construction.

Yes, your fish should stay alive in a frozen pond if you winterize it properly. By ensuring your pond has enough oxygen, good water quality, and a hole to release harmful gases, your pond and fish have the best chance of staying alive and healthy. However, if you have tropical fish, they should be overwintered indoors.
