"Words cannot fully express how grateful I am to have found Biotek Environmental! Ted took a lot of time compassionately listening to my concerns and explaining the initial process over the phone. Tyler patiently shared his extensive knowledge on how mold develops along with natural ways to clean clothes and surfaces. He also explained the meter reads of mold counts and humidity levels as I tagged along from room to room during the home inspection. Every step of the process was clearly explained creating a great sense of confidence in me and Dad. Crew members Jermaine, Ray, and Matt were friendly, considerate, and diligent in their hardworking task of removing the mold source. Donna was very professional and prompt to respond to any questions by email. I could go on and on with how pleased and relieved I am to have found Tyler and company but I will just close by stating the obvious: health is vital. My elderly father's health and general quality of life have improved substantially since we hired Biotek Environmental. They are also a clean company with a generous warranty. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a healthier home."

"They started the work a week ago. I have a large and old house. It has a lot of detailed work that is needed. The guy is doing a good job as far as I can see. He got delayed a bit because he had to get something certified. He is on his way and he is doing a fine job so far. I will be spending $7800 on the job. They are taking care of details and are nicely doing the job. They have a good reputation. The quality of work that he is doing is what he needs to be doing. He is doing fine. He gave me an estimate. He explains what he is doing. He does a good job of communicating. He keeps in touch. I will use him again in the future."

Lead Testing and Removal questions, answered by experts

The average cost of a lead paint inspection is about $600, but it can cost as low as $150 or as much as $800, depending on the size of the area, geographic location, and the inspection methods. Some of the most common lead paint inspection methods include:

  • Visual inspection: $150–$400

  • Paint sampling: $200–$600

  • X-ray fluorescence (XRF): $250–$700

  • Risk assessment: $300–$800

Lead paint test kits are not always accurate. Several factors can play into why a test kit provides an inaccurate result such as user error, sample viability, the age and condition of the paint, or difficulty interpreting the final result. If you are looking for 100% accuracy, hiring a professional lead paint test is the only way to get that piece of mind.
