"I was amazed at the work they performed. I contacted Ryan to explain about my old house that had a very sooty and mossy brick chimney...not to mention a very dirty brick patio. I was worried that the old grout in my brick would be damaged by pressure washing, Ryan assured me that they would be very gentle...by first treating problem areas, scrubbing if needed and then rinsing with gentle pressure. He said they could also clean the wooden part of my house and deck. They cleaned the wooden areas and did not damage any old paint. They did an outstanding job...above and beyond my expectations. The crew was very punctual and polite...they completed the job in the promised time frame. I will definitely hire Excel Pro Services for other work. My old house has a fresh new look....Thank You Ryan and crew!!!"

"I initially had Albert paint my house in May 2012.  He did a great job and just came back for the second "free" power wash.  House still looks great and stays in great shape now that he comes back each year.  The team that did the washing spent a lot of time on my back deck and did whatever I asked them to.  I checked a lot of painters initially and they were the best price and the best guarantee.  Love having my house washed every year for free.

"DON'T BE FOOLED OF THE CHEAP QUOTE. You will NOT get quality work !!!! Hired Painting and Moore and they should have fired during the job. You are basically hiring for cheap labor rolling and holding and a paintbrush. That is it. The prep work was below subpar and experienced many things damaged and there is no respect of property. (damaged bushes, door knobs, patio steps, dead grass patches from where they cleaned the paints, wood panels) I am still finding cigarette butts everywhere, ITS GROSS!!! If you want a cheap job, these are your guys. Disrespectful workers to me the homeowner when asking questions. I was asked several neighbors from the area if I would refer Painting and Moore and I told them I wouldn't recommend because of the experience we endured. Don't be fooled by the price, you WILL get what you paid for. Painting & Moore has found my contact details and reached out to me. So they know they have found my contact information and who I am. Painting & Moore has contacted me in August and has resolved my complaint but maintaining a 3 star review for my overall experience."

"The service was very good. We had some problems with them finishing the construction which created scheduling ambiguity and confusion. It also took much longer than it should have, roughly three months to complete the deck. Other than that we're happy with the work that was provided and the quality of the deck is good."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, adding railing to a deck is a great way to improve safety and your home’s aesthetic appeal. Railings can be constructed from wood, metal, or composite, and there are plenty of choices regarding design and style. Always consult local building codes before starting any building project—there are often requirements regarding spacing and height that can differ slightly from place to place.

To prepare a deck for a hot tub, start by thinking about safe and easy access in and out of the tub. Homeowners should plan for steps or consider built-in seating, a level surface around the perimeter, and a clear, slip-resistant path from the house. A hot tub requires sufficient space around it for comfortable entry and exit, ensuring no awkward squeezing or stepping over high edges. Good lighting and handrails can also make a big difference, especially for nighttime use.

Yes, but ensuring the deck has a solid foundation with adequate footings is critical before building, as the weight of a sunroom will put significant pressure on the structure below. Even if your deck is properly constructed, it may not be able to handle the extra weight. While some basic, lightweight, prefabricated sunrooms can sit on a deck with a strong existing foundation without additional supports, in many cases, the foundation and joists will need reinforcement. It is always best to have a structural engineer perform an inspection to evaluate the deck's quality and structural integrity. A professional can help you decide if reinforcement is sufficient or if it's better to tear down the deck and start over.

Both composite and PVC decking are excellent alternatives to wood. However, while composite is moderately priced and lasts around 30 years, PVC costs more and lasts longer. PVC is also more durable, though both materials are more durable than wood decking. Ultimately, the choice between composite and PVC decking will come down to your budget and preferences.

You can build an outdoor kitchen on a deck, but you should choose composite decking since it's more heat-resistant. Metal deck materials like steel and aluminum are also good choices because they're less flammable than wood. You should also consider the weight of the kitchen—make sure your deck can support it and any appliances you plan to use. You should consult a structural engineer to confirm exactly how much weight your deck can safely support when building an outdoor kitchen.
