"They install the new walk-in shower took out my old tub and did it all in one day. The two gentlemen who came were very kind and courteous and also made sure they cleaned up after themselves left nothing behind. I love my new walk-in shower"

"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"Mr. Knight and Dana were professional. He explained everything that he would do and the cost in the contract. They arrived early every day . They installed new kitchen cabinets, new shower , toilets and new flooring throughout my entire house. Everything looks great. They completed the job on time. Mr.Knight's pricing was fair. Tub Shower Conversion questions, answered by experts

Indications include persistent leaks, mold growth, outdated style, or recurring plumbing issues.

The cost to replace a showerhead varies depending on the model and whether you hire a professional. A new showerhead typically costs between $50 and $100, though high-end models with upgraded features can cost $300 or more.

For a DIY installation, you can expect to spend about $75 in total for the showerhead, tools, and supplies. If you hire a professional, labor costs are generally between $50 and $100. Some estimates place the total cost for labor and materials between $80 and $220, with an average project cost around $260.

The final price is influenced by factors such as the type of showerhead (e.g., a standard single-wall mount versus a luxurious model) and the number of showerheads being installed.

When choosing between fiberglass and acrylic for a shower, your budget and preferences are key factors. Fiberglass is generally more affordable and lightweight, but it may be more prone to scratches, dullness, and cracking over time. Acrylic is more durable, flexible, and scratch-resistant, and it tends to retain its shine longer. While slightly more expensive, acrylic is available in a wider variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and finishes. It is also generally easier to repair if damaged. For shower bases specifically, acrylic is less likely to crack than fiberglass, but as long as either type is installed and supported correctly, it should not chip or crack prematurely.

Shower arms come in a standard size with ½-inch NPT, but designs vary. The height of the water supply pipe and the showerhead height you want affect the type of shower arm you should choose. For example, a water outlet that’s located close to the ceiling would be suitable for a standard shower arm (small extension with a slight downward angle) or a straight arm model. Outlets situated lower in the shower allow for gooseneck shower arms, which can raise the showerhead's height.

Whether walk-in showers are worth it depends on your goals and priorities. For many, walk-in showers are worth the investment due to the increased accessibility, the minimalist aesthetic, and the ease of cleaning. They’re particularly beneficial for households that want low-threshold access for aging in place. However, if you love taking baths and want more privacy and a warmer showering space, a walk-in shower may not be the best bathroom upgrade for you.
