"They were able to do the job the very next day and they were in and out in a timely fashion. They cleaned up after themselves and very very personable to me while in my home. My only minor complaint would be that their company should have an instruction sheet on the care and maintainance of the tint that they leave with the customer. I am planning on using them again for a few more projects."

"Tint USA did a great job. The owner provided us with an in-home estimate that was extremely competitive with other quotes we had gotten. The two individuals who did the installation were knowledgeable, courteous and worked continuously until the job was done. This installation required removing existing tinting and replace. We are very thankful to Wes Mister and his men."

"The two guys who came to detail my car did a great job. They did have to reschedule once but it was because it was too cold out the first time. My only issue was that when they left the seats in my car were still a little wet and they left all of the windows rolled up so the moisture just accumulated inside. I would definitely use them again, they did a great job.

Arrived for my install appointment, installed the unit in my 2011 Jetta did a awesome job, was perfect. Took the time went over the functions, helped me realize HDMI & iPhone 4s Mirrored onto my new JVC, just awesome. It sounds better using HDMI. "Have worked with Jeremy and Larry at 1st Security for a few months now and they're great. They're far more responsive than any other alarm company I've worked with and they're focused on meeting your needs, versus endlessly trying to get you to buy more services and sensors that you might not need. In the house I just bought some other alarm company had installed a window open/close sensor on a window that doesn't open - probably fooling the prior senior citizen owners to pay more for more equipment they didn't need. I rest assured that 1st Security would never do something so foolish and greedy. They're good, honest people, and this is something that's unfortunately hard to find in the alarm business. I recommend them."

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

Applying window security film yourself is possible, but we don’t recommend it. This task is simple in theory, but getting the product to sit on your windows evenly and without bubbles underneath is challenging for DIYers who lack the necessary experience and tools. You might save money on labor by applying it yourself, but you might also end up with a film that doesn’t look appealing, prompting you to start over and spend the money on a professional installation anyway. Plus, most window film manufacturers will void your warranty if you install the product yourself.

To darken your windows without curtains, try installing window film or even installing an awning outside your windows. Window film is a DIY-friendly option with many different darkness levels you can choose from to fit your desired look. Awnings can also help by casting shade over your window, though this isn’t feasible for every home.

Do not use Windex or any glass cleaner when applying window film. These products contain ammonia, which will damage the film. Instead, use the application solution provided with the installation kit. If there is no solution, make your own using 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo and a gallon of bottled water.

While you need heat to peel back window film, the tint will often leave behind adhesive residue. You can use chemicals such as isopropyl alcohol or acetone to remove the residue, though hardware stores sell specialized solutions for this purpose as well. You can also use soapy water in a pinch!

One drawback is that window film can reduce the amount of natural light entering a room, particularly if you opt for a darker or more opaque film. Additionally, if not installed properly, window film may develop air bubbles or wrinkles, affecting its appearance. Over time, certain types of window film may also experience discoloration or peeling. Moreover, certain window films can interfere with wireless signals, such as Wi-Fi or cellular reception. Careful consideration of these potential drawbacks is essential when deciding whether window film is the right choice for your home.
