"We shopped around and settled on MVFS because we thought they offered best product. MVFS encapsulated our crawl space plus put in 2 sump pumps/drains. We had it done right before "Debby" and there were some issues due to the amount of rain we got. We called MVFS and they immediately came out and rectified the situation. We worked with Mark (sales), Joe, Dez, Zach and Darryl (encapsulation guys) and all were professional, kind, they explained things well and worked till we were satisfied, even work late nights on occasion. We would definitely recommend them."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Apple 2 Home Services and their technician, William, to clear my drains. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, expertise, and quality of service provided throughout the entire process. William was prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and respectful of my home. He quickly identified the issue and completed the work thoroughly and effectively. He also took the time to explain what needed to be done and patiently answered all of my questions and concerns. Overall, I couldn?t be happier with the service I received from Apple 2 Home Services and William. His professionalism and excellent customer service truly stood out. I would highly recommend Apple 2 Home Services to anyone in need of reliable and professional plumbing services. Tanya Aleksandrova"

Small jobs welcome

"Charles, the owner, wonâ t do the job unless he can do it right. He is a certified plumber and stands by his work. We bought the service plan. At first I thought it was priced a little high, but after seeing his work I realized I was buying peace of mind. I have no doubt he will stand by his work. He buys the best quality parts and he installs it right, and with the plan if anything goes wrong he will be back to fix it. The work was priced below the other estimates I got, but as the work proceeded I added tasks that were required to bring my plumbing to code. I ended up at a comparable price to the other bids, but I got the best quality work and a more complete solution to my plumbing. After all that Iâ ve said I know I donâ t need to say this, but I would recommend World Class Plumbing to everybody. I now know I have a plumber I can trust."

"After giving us an estimate in Dec 2014 and constantly following up with us they earned our business. They installed 8 piers and 3 beams under our home and what a difference! Just walking across the floors feels so sturdy. Now that this has been completed we can begin working on our kitchen remodel. Thanks Again!

"We have been using Rudd for several years for our HVAC service. We recently had our HVAC service performed on 3/10/26. We had Travis Mullen as our technician whom was extremely knowledgeable, has a great personality, detailed oriented & is very customer focused. We were truly impressed with his work ethic. We decided to have a whole home dehumidifier installed in our home. He made sure we were completely satisfied. If we need additional service on our unit I will be sure to request Travis as our technician. Rudd you have an excellent employee with Travis he’s a keeper. Thank you Rudd & especially Travis for your hard work we appreciate you."

"They have been out for the electrical. They have been out for the pool. They have been out for the sump pump. Its the fee for the service call. We have used them for the last 3 years. If you have an appliance that you think needs replaced they will not replace it they will repair it to death. They are very responsive. Some of the people they send out are great, some are okay."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

If you have a self-cleaning washing machine but you’re still seeing lint, your water pump filter might be clogged. To clean it, you should unscrew the drain hose, then remove the water pump filter. From there, you can inspect it and clean it with warm water before replacing it. Check to be sure your washing machine is functioning by running a short cycle.

Installing a battery backup for your sump pump is recommended, particularly if you live in an area with frequent power outages or severe rainstorms. A sump pump requires electricity to function, and a battery backup ensures it can continue to move water out of your home if the power goes out, providing crucial protection against flooding. Additionally, frequent power outages can create electrical surges that might damage the sump pump's motor. A battery backup system offers an additional layer of protection, ensuring your basement stays dry.

A sump pump's lifespan is typically 7 to 10 years, though the general range can be anywhere from 5 to 15 years. The specific type of pump is a major factor: pedestal sump pumps last an average of 20 to 25 years, whereas submersible sump pumps last between 5 and 15 years. While pedestal pumps are less expensive to service, they are also louder and more prone to clogging.

Several other factors influence longevity, including the pump's quality, usage frequency, and maintenance schedule. A high-quality pump that is well-maintained in a dry climate may last for two decades, while a lower-quality, poorly maintained pump in an area with a high water table or frequent flooding may fail in six years or less.

Regular maintenance, including annual inspections and tuneups from a professional, can significantly extend the pump's life. It is time to consider a replacement if your sump pump runs constantly, cycles frequently, shows visible rust or corrosion, or trips a circuit breaker. As a preventative measure, many homeowners replace their pumps every eight years. It's also worth noting that a manufacturer's warranty can indicate expected lifespan, and some home insurance policies may not cover water damage from a pump that is past its recommended replacement date.

Submersible and pedestal sump pumps are two popular types of sump pumps. Submersible models are covered by water in a sump pit, which helps keep the motor cooler and quieter. Pedestal sump pumps stick out of the sump pit, so the motor stays dry and is easier to access. Submersible sump pumps are the pricier option, but they also have longer life spans.

If your sump pump isn’t engaging, it might be clogged with dirt and debris. Check to see if the fitting lid is loose and has been letting debris in. Next, check the float and make sure it’s not obstructed by rust or gunk, which results from insufficient maintenance. Tangled wires or damaged switching systems can also stop your sump pump from engaging.
