"I would like to recognize employee Doug A at SafeStreet/ADT. We’ve had an old security system sitting in our house for over 15 years without service or functionality. He took the time to explain the differences between how the old systems work and how the new systems work. He was patient with us, and we are happy customers."

"ADT is the best company to talk to in terms of security alarm. Being a locksmith myself I know how important it is to deal with the right people. I referred a lot of customers to them and so far they are happy with their service. I myself got one for my house. Thank you for a consistent service and great deal."

"Highly recommened!! David called me instantly, gave me a quote and met up with me the same day. He was on time, very professional, very knowledgeable. I didnt have the code he needed to make the key for my vehicle but he went above and beyond to find the code and make me the key I needed. I will definently be calling him with any of my locksmith needs. Very satisfied with the quality of work he provided! I couldnt thank him enough!"

"Kenny rekeyed my restaurant adding different access levels to prevent loss, tuned up all my locks, and also repaired a door handle. In addition to having a quick response time, he was very professional and worked efficiently in my business and around my customers. I highly recommend and am working with him now to get security cameras upgraded."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

Rekeying should be done when employees leave or keys are lost, while replacement may be necessary for outdated or damaged locks.

Regrettably, entirely pick-proof locks don't exist unless you opt for keyless varieties. Locks advertised as "pick-proof" are, in reality, more resilient against lock-picking and bumping attempts because of complex mechanisms consisting of pins and sidebars. These locks work like this—they assign two tasks to the key, enhancing security by making unauthorized entry more challenging.

One of the best tools for removing a stripped bolt is a handy pair of locking pliers. Locking pliers can usually grip onto screws with a broken, rounded, or stripped head and lock in place so that you can loosen even the most stubborn bolt that would otherwise remain hopelessly jammed.

As with any computer, smart locks can be hacked by someone with the technical skills to do so, but most people do not have that ability, making smart locks relatively safe. If you have any concerns about a compromised smart lock, opt for an encrypted smart lock, change your Wi-Fi password, and make sure that you only give out your password to trusted family and friends.

The good news is that, yes, you can change locks yourself. Many people find it’s an easy DIY project that requires few tools and not much expense (depending on which lock you’re installing). If you have trouble with any part of an installation, you can always call a locksmith to help finish installing them.
