"I went on the Angi site to find a business that stretches carpet. I was given several businesses for carpet stretching. One of the businesses I received was Robert McInerney. I looked at the reviews of his business and all were positive. I called Bob and he was able to come to the house the day I called . Bob and his son showed up on time and did a great job stretching the carpet in the 4 bedrooms. They were friendly, polite and the price was reasonable. I would definitely hire them again."

"i needed to get two carpets stretch out. i messages the company and received a response almost immediately. A date and time was set to come out and quote the job. The tech came out and told me "i can finish this job right now so you wont have to wait" . The tech also helped me move some furniture . This is not in his job description, however he was more then happy to help me with it. I will be doing business with them again for sure."

"Excellent.Derek responded via email within a few days  of my purchase and was able to accommodate my schedule.  He fully explained what was involved in the repair and how much time it would take.  The work was excellent, a nice tight fit, neatly installed and no mess left behind.  I will definitely be contacting him in the future.

"The entire process was surprisingly simple, quick and reasonably affordable. Top Notch was one out of three
vendors I contacted and was the first to get right back to me hours after my first telephone call.
I simply contacted Top Notch on 5/4/15, received estimate on
5/7/2015.  The project began on 5/12 completed by 5/15/2015.
Tasks included carpet to hardwood conversion, bathroom upgrade
sink and shower restoration as well as paint job.

Carpet Stretching FAQs, answered by experts

You can use a carpet patch to replace a single section of carpet. You’ll cut out the damaged section and then replace it with a caret patch. The patch should be the same color as the existing carpet. You can also hire a professional carpet repair company to get it done.

Regular maintenance and professional repairs can extend the life of a carpet.

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

Regular vacuuming, deep cleaning, and prompt stain removal help maintain appearance and durability.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls, and its cushioning can lessen the severity of an injury if a fall does occur. Hard surfaces often lack the friction needed for a secure tread and can be quite slippery.

However, it's worth noting that some carpets can also be slick, particularly if they are brand new, dirty, or made from certain materials. If any stair surface feels too slippery, traction treads can be added to most materials to increase grip and improve safety.
