"Jonny was a pleasure to work with and we are REALLY happy with our new railings. The craftsmanship was excellent. Jonny also went the extra mile in the project, designing and installing custom wrought iron railings to match existing ironwork. In addition, Jonny was really courteous and prompt. He took all of our needs into account. Our railings are worth every penny we paid for them. Thank you, Jonny!"

"The team was great! Do to the fact it was a hectic period in my life, I  needed most of the communication to be done over e-mail which they did. The quality of work exceeded my expectations. The unit is on the 10th floor
and build staff made a point to tell me how respectful the team was to them and to others in the building. This group made what could have been a stressful experience, an experience where I did not have to think about the details of prepping the unit for sale.

I am Adrian Rivera of Rivera Home Improvement. I am 19 years old and have been ambitious about this for around 7 years now. I have been working with a family friend and have decided to start my own business. I have remodeled bathrooms, replaced floors, replaced rotted studs and added new drywall. I have been welding for 5 years now and I am taking classes for an HVAC Certification.

Welding questions, answered by experts

Welding is the process of using extreme heat—and, sometimes, pressure—to attach two pieces of metal. In contrast, metal fabrication is a more involved process that can include welding, sheet metal work, bending, and other forms of metal manipulation. Metal fabrication is a large-scale project that may or may not involve welding, while welding is more often a step in larger fabrication projects.

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.

You should not do your own welding unless you have the proper training and experience. Most home electrical systems can only handle MIG welding, which creates weaker bonds than TIG welding and won’t work on certain metals or metal thicknesses. Both welding forms usually require the use of shielding gas, which can be dangerous to store at home. Additionally, welding machines create temperatures of over 3,000 degrees, and the sparks can blind you if you don’t have the proper equipment. As such, it’s usually better to hire a professional welder for your welding projects.

Yes, you can cut plexiglass by hand using a sharp knife or blade (utility knife, box cutter, glass cutter, etc.).

This all depends on the tools you have on hand and whether you’re trying to cut a straight line or shapes.

The best tool to use for straight lines is either a circular saw or table saw. When cutting shapes, a jigsaw will be the easiest and most precise tool to use.
