"Great experience! Pleasant, efficient, and very helpful person in the office (Jen) Excellent communication and prompt scheduling. The two guys who came to do the work (Keith and Jack) were very nice to deal with and were fast workers (and strong). Will definitely go to again as well as recommend to friends!"

"Tom, John and Eli arrived on time and worked professionally and efficiently to remove unwanted items and dispose of them as well as help transfer some other large items to another location for me. Prices were very reasonable and communication was excellent. I would definitely hire them again!"

"Blake responded very quickly to the quote request and we were able to schedule the clean out within 24 hours of posting the request. We had scheduled a time but due to a unexpected emergency needed to postpone the same day which he did without delay. We were able to meet and complete the job in a very quick and efficient manner, he went as far as to make sure everything was cleaned and completed to my satisfaction. The quote he provided did not change and we were able to make the payment on the spot without any unexpected charges or fees. Blake was very professional along with his assistant to remove all of the unwanted items from the storage bin, and he even offered to help with taking the items reserved for donation to another location. I highly recommend Pa property solutions to anyone who is looking for responsible, reasonable, and respectful business from a highly efficient professional. Below is the result of clearing out a 15-ftx20-ft storage bin left behind by relative."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.

You may be able to install a garbage disposal on your own, especially if you're handy or have some experience with plumbing. However, if you have any concerns or want to make absolutely sure that the connections are installed correctly, you may be better off hiring a local garbage disposal installer to do the job.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.

Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.
