"I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from [Company Name]. I hired them to complete work that included installing an external vent cover, and not only was the job left incomplete, but the company has been completely unresponsive to my attempts to contact them. Despite multiple messages asking for updates or a resolution, I have received no reply. To make matters worse, they have refused to refund the money I paid for the incomplete work. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. I trusted them to deliver on their promises, and they have let me down at every turn. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere if you want a company that stands by their work and communicates with their customers. I will not be using their services again."

"Paid for hardscaping and bushes removed. He put construction rock down instead of River Rock and left all the stumps from the bushes and stated he could not cut low without breaking his equipment! He DID NOT lay down weed barrier and repeatedly told me he did. I looked under the rocks and there was nothing then sent him a picture of NO weed barrier! The weeds grew back within a week and Josh said he would be back to fix it and never came. We had to hire professionals to fix his awful work."

A light layer of mulch can help protect a tree, retain moisture, and keep the soil healthy. However, it’s important to avoid over-mulching or piling the mulch up around the trunk of a tree, a practice notoriously called “volcano mulching.” That piled mulch can increase the chances of rot and disease on the tree trunk as well as overwhelming the soil, which needs access to a certain amount of air. Topped trees have it hard enough: mulch sparingly while they heal.

If you decide to DIY your boulder removal project, you’ll want to wear work gloves and protect your eyes if you decide to break the boulder into smaller pieces. Wear a lifting harness and focus on lifting with your legs to prevent back injuries. If you’re digging around a large boulder or using heavy machinery to get underneath it, make sure there are no utility lines nearby.

How tall your mulch should be around your tree depends on the type of mulch you use, but aim for 3 to 4 inches as a rule of thumb. You’ll want to avoid simply piling it up in hopes of offering additional benefits to your tree. Volcano mulching is the infamous term for piling way too much mulch against the stem of your tree. This could actually kill your tree or severely harm it, as your tree trunk needs space to breathe without too much moisture.

The best equipment for moving large rocks from your yard depends on their size and weight. A heavy-duty wheelbarrow or a rock dolly can be effective for smaller boulders. A skid-steer loader or a mini-excavator with a grapple attachment provides the necessary power and control for larger, heavier rocks that you can’t lift manually. Professionals may use a larger excavator and ratchet hoist to remove larger boulders.

No one likes running out of materials during a project, so calculating the right amount of gravel needed for your driveway is an absolute must. Multiply your driveway’s length by width by the depth of the gravel (in feet). For gravel depth, convert to a decimal (i.e., 4 inches is 0.33 feet). This will give you the cubic feet of material that you need.
