Small jobs welcome

"Colt’s property service has done multiple projects for me and has done a good job with all of them. Most recently he regraded underneath my deck. And replaced the old footings. It was very tight and tricky to get a machine in, but he managed with no problems. Would definitely recommend going forward."

"John and his crew were professional answered all my questions and explained it fully. They were careful of my ceramic tile that was put down less than a year ago. When taking out the old wall they dealt with rows of glass bottles, door hinges and chisels and let us know that these obstacles took extra time.. While working on the foundation they had to deal with alot of rain. My front yard was a mess from the machinery. When they were finished they leveled out the track marks, the only thing I need to do is add grass seed"

We were especially impressed with how quickly they were available to start the project and how efficiently they completed it. Their team was professional, detail-oriented, and respectful of our property throughout the process. The finished wall looks fantastic and feels incredibly solid. "This is the second time we have hired Groundworks (formerly Bakers Waterproofing) to perform work at our house. The first project was in 2017 when we had the waterproofing system installed. We called Groundworks a few weeks ago to get an estimate on lifting our front sidewalk and stairs that have sunk a lot over the past year. The steps had sunk to the point that the railings were not connected to the house, making it very unsafe for anyone coming into the front of our home. Aaron Lenker & Corbin Gillichbover were very professional and knowledgeable when they arrived to assess our sidewalk and steps to lift them. They left our sidewalk and the surrounding area better than when they arrived. Our steps and sidewalk are now level, and the railings are securely attached to the house again. We are thrilled! I would highly recommend Groundworks if you need a basement waterproofing system or any concrete lifted."

"Tom was excellent to work with along with his helper. He gave me a reasonable price for my chimney liner and chimney cap and masonry work. What I respect the most about Tom is when he came out to look at my job he removed the pipe from my heater it was so clogged from no liner. When he saw it he had his helper go grab the tools and unclogged it immediately for me before he left which I thought was so nice not only did he not charge me for the quick clean out but he had no idea if I would choose him to do the job because I told him in the beginning I had another man coming out that following Monday for a second estimate. Both men were nice but Tom went the extra mile so I chose him for the job. I was not disappointed he showed up on time did a great job with the liner and the chimney I definitely would recommend him to anyone looking for an honest guy with good prices does great work and shows up on time."

"Work was done in a timely manner. Done one day early. My only disappointment was that they cut down some drywall we had just installed with our brand new mini Split system. Other than that the basement looks great and they were reachable when needed."

"Hired them to inspect and a brick house and suggest repairs. Decided to stucco coat one wall and tuck point various needed spots on the house. Brian, Jake, and Kyle spent nearly two weeks doing the job. They were professional knowledgeable and kept customer service at the forefront of the process. The price was very reasonable and the quality of service was good. Would recommend"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can cut patio stones with a circular saw. Similar to using an electric grinder, you will need to use a diamond blade as this is the most effective blade for cutting a material like stone. The stone must be wet when using a circular saw to ensure the cut is smooth.

They offer durability, aesthetic appeal, and resistance to weathering compared to concrete or asphalt.

No, it’s not recommended to attach shutters to brick without drilling. Brick is dense and built to last, so adhesives and shortcut methods don’t usually cut it. Even heavy-duty glue struggles to hold up over time—especially against wind, moisture, and temperature changes. Most no-drill options are made for materials like vinyl or wood, not solid masonry. Skipping the drill might seem easier, but it puts your shutters—and anything below them—at risk. For a secure, lasting install, drilling is the way to go. It takes more effort up front, but the result is safer and more reliable.

Yes, as long as the cut is clean and the brick remains structurally sound, you can reuse it. Reusing brick is especially common for landscaping, edging, and small masonry repairs. Just make sure to file down any sharp edges before handling or installing it.

You can use a regular drill to make pilot holes for gutter brackets in the wooden fascia board around the top of your house, but it’s not the best tool for brick. Instead, you’ll need a heavy-duty power tool like a hammer drill with a carbide tip bit.
