They were splintering, had screws in them and were very worn. We called multiple places to give us estimates on re-finishing the floors and most tried to "up sell" us and have us purchase new hardwood flooring. However, we wanted to keep the existing floors, as they had so much character and it is much more eco-friendly. When we met Jon Sivertsen of Generations Hardwood Flooring, LLC- we knew he was the right guy for the job the moment we met him. he was extremely knowledgable, answered our numerous questions, and gave us many options from replacing the part of all of the floors, to simply refinishing the floors to their former glory. He gave us his honest opinions and was confident in his ability and knowledge. We chose to re-finish the floors. His price was extremely reasonable given his skill and the amount of work. The week before our project was set to start he came to our home and put several stains on our floors so we could review them over the weekend and chose a stain color that suited our taste. He also walked us through the process, gave us a timetable and answered last minute questions. He spent about 1 hour with us that day. When the job began, he and his crew (his son works with him- hence the name Generations) were so polite and kind. They arrived on time, and stayed late to complete the work each day. They worked so neatly. They put plastic up all over my home to protect, art, tvs, bookshelves, kitchen cabinets, they helped us move some large furniture and dusted and cleaned when they were finished!!! They were so trustworthy- we gave them a key to our home so they could come and go as needed. They told us that we should not stay in the home given the fumes of the stain and were on time with the timeline so we could make plans accordingly. They communicated with us each day via phone or email to update us on the day's progress and give us a status report. I cannot recommend this company enough. They went above and beyond and were so wonderful to work with- oh, and the floors look AMAZING. Honestly, they are perfect and I had no idea they could look so good. Everyone who comes to our home remarks on how great the floors are!"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/va/manakin-sadot/generations-hardwood-flooring-llc-reviews-6471465.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"ACTIVE FENCE CO","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"PA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Shawn F."},"reviewBody":"Excellent from start to finish!"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ny/ashville/active-fence-co-reviews-5162713.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Calloway Contracting","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"PA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Bruce K."},"reviewBody":" The contractor arrived at 08:30 on the dot - as promised. Concrete Finishing reviews from real Angi homeowners in Sugar Grove, PA
They were really good. They are reasonable priced; our drive is very large. They showed up on time. The clean up was good; they left everything neat. They also redid our front and back concrete porch steps more recently. They were very good about keeping in touch and responding to calls.

Some of the work was good but the finish quality on the kitchen cabinets was a real dissappointment. Additionally, when they removed the moulding to put in the floor, multiple pieces were damaged and not replaced. We called them back for some patch work but they really needed to be replaced...

FAQs for concrete finishing projects in Sugar Grove, PA
Concrete repair costs range anywhere from about $0.10 to $0.15 per linear foot to fill minor cracks, to about $6 to $14 per square foot to replace damaged concrete slabs. Repair costs vary widely depending on the size and type of work needed. For example, replacing 100 square feet of driveway will cost between $600 to $1,400, on average.
The average cost of stamped concrete is around $12 per square foot, but you might pay anywhere from $8 to $28 per square foot. The average 12-foot by 12-foot patio costs $1,730 on average. Your exact pricing will depend on the patio’s square footage, the condition of the area where you want to pour the concrete, the desired stamp pattern, concrete coloring, concrete grade, and local labor prices. Don’t forget to budget for extra costs like land preparation and additional concrete fortifications if necessary.
Depending on the cost to repair your driveway, it may be more cost effective to tear out and replace it with a new concrete driveway. The cost to repave a driveway ranges between $1,400 and $12,100, including removal of the old concrete. Contact a reputable concrete contractor for advice and an estimate. They may have a good reason for going with repairs or replacement after assessing your driveway. You may also have the option to resurface your driveway or pave over it without taking out the existing one.
It’s possible to create stamped concrete yourself, but we don’t recommend it and it’s often not cost-effective. It’s easy to mess up the pattern of a stamped concrete patio or walkway, leaving you with an unsightly home exterior rather than the elegant solution you wanted. Any mistakes made during the ground leveling and concrete pouring process will also increase the risk of cracks forming on your concrete. Additionally, buying enough stamps to get the pattern in before your concrete cures can cost as much as hiring a professional to do the work for you.
Concrete contractors typically charge anywhere from $6 to $14 per square foot. Cost factors include job size, site prep, base material, accessibility, your location, concrete finish, and concrete thickness. Removal of existing concrete, asphalt, deck, pavers, and grass will cost anywhere from $1 to $6 per square foot. Homeowners can often save money by removing and disposing of existing pavers, decks, and grass. Breaking up and hauling away concrete and asphalt is difficult and time-consuming without the proper equipment and may be worth having the pros do that work.
