"My wife are both retirees and recently required the services of a plumbing professional to stop a leaking toilet. We turned to Angi. Within a short period of time later I received a phone call from Mark Migliaccio, Owner of AirHeads asking for information on the projectâ ¦ After discussing the project we scheduled a time and date for AirHeads to do the needed work. Mark made the needed repairs as discussed and Mark could not have been more professional or more knowledgeable and to boot our bathroom was cleaner than when he arrived. I would not hesitate to hire AirHeads again."

"Very professional service. The owner was knowledgeable and answered a myriad of questions. The rugs were beautifully cleaned. and at a very reasonable price! I will definitely use his service again. I have a room with wall-to-wall carpeting that I will have him clean. Great company!"

"We could not have been most pleased with the whole house duct cleaning done by Fresh Air Duct Cleaning in Nazareth. The job was performed with astute attention to detail and information from pre-job to post-job photos were provided. It had been quite some time since our ducts were cleaned and the job Fresh Air did was stellar!"

"Brad was super knowledgeable and professional. He checked out our chimney to make sure it was safe, cleaned it, tolerated our crazy dog, and then gave us some recommendations for improvements and he showed and explained everything going on with our fireplace to us, which I really appreciated. We're very happy with the work, can't wait to build a fire this weekend, and are awaiting an estimate for further work from Integrity Chimney Services."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Generally, snow removal from a roof should occur once over six inches of snow accumulates, especially if you notice that ice dams have formed. Without ice dams, you can let the snow accumulation hit 12 inches before removing it. However, the amount of snow that is too much for your roof also depends on the sturdiness of your roof and the compactness of the snow. If your roof needs maintenance or has structural issues, it’s best not to let the snow accumulate too much for fear of collapsing.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

You should not clean roof shingles if the roof has damage like missing shingles or low spots where water may accumulate. You should focus on repairing the roof before any cleaning process occurs. If you notice roof damage as you’re climbing on the roof to clean it, stop immediately. Call a roofing pro to make repairs. Cleaning a roof that has damage could lead to pooling water or water damage to the roof decking. The roof cleaning process removes mold and mildew, making the roof look better. It is not going to fix physical damage, though.

If your home doesn't have gutters, you can still hang Christmas lights on the roof using specialized clips. Use roof clips designed to attach to shingles or fascia. For tile roofs or the edges of the rooftop, consider using parrot clips. Adhesive light-hanging clips are also a great option. It's important to avoid using nails or staples, as they can damage your roofing material. For unique or complex installations, it's best to consult a professional Christmas light installer to find the safest and most effective solution for your home.

The average cost to clean a roof is around $500, but prices can fall between $150 to $1,000 or more. The size and complexity of your roof are the most significant cost factors, as larger roofs and those with various bump-outs and gables will increase your cost. Your roof material will also make a difference. An asphalt roof will require more labor, as your professional will need to be careful not to damage the shingles. A metal roof can stand up to more intense scrubbing and shouldn’t take as long to clean.
