We create window art for your home. Juan Rodriguez is a stained glass master who has designed and created stained glass domes, stained glass panels, and leaded and beveled glass entryways and skylights for discerning homeowners in the Pittsburgh area for over 20 years. Juan also offers repair and restoration services for home and church windows. Judy Soccio is an award-winning drapery designer whose knowledge, skill and experience combine to dress your windows and bring hour decor dreams to life. Custom design focuses on the customer - an in-depth phone interview provides us with information on what you hope to accomplish and how we can help you achieve that design result. We progress to an in-home consultation (non-refundable consultation fee due at the first visit). Project costs are calculated based on scope of work, materials, difficulty of installation, etc. Once you have accepted our proposal, we keep you informed of our progress on your project and you are welcome to visit our studios while your draperies or stained glass panels are being fabricated. Trip charges may be assessed for distances further than 30 miles from Monongahela, PA.

"We were extremely happy with the service, installation and quality provided by Pella of McMurray. We dealt with Rob Culbertson. Rob was superb to deal with in many aspects. I highly recommend selecting Rob to handle your needs. The installers were professional, respectful and diligent. They worked hard under cold conditions. They were cognizant of their cleanliness too and swept up frequently. The fiberglass windows and doors look great and I examined them thoroughly. My neighbors have been complimentary too. Try Rob Culbertson and Pella of McMurray for your needs."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

In most cases, it is more affordable to reupholster furniture than it is to replace it, but it depends on the quality and age of the furniture you’re considering getting reupholstered. Antique pieces are always worth reupholstering, as it’s the only way to preserve the piece and extend its life. Newer pieces of furniture are more often made using lower-quality materials like medium-density fiberboard or plywood that don’t have the same lifespan as things like hardwood. For newer pieces, your furniture reupholstery specialist should be able to help you determine the best course of action.

Craftsmanship begins with detailed design followed by skilled artisans shaping high-quality materials into the desired furniture, ensuring durability and uniqueness.

The time to reupholster a couch often ranges from one to three weeks, depending on the upholsterer's workload, fabric availability, and the complexity of your couch. This breaks down between 10 and 20 hours if you hire a professional, or 20 to 40 hours if you DIY. Custom features or repairs may extend the timeline.

You should consider the time needed to clean and prepare your bedroom set for transit. A few days before moving, vacuum, dust, and clean your furniture with a mild cleaning solution. Depending on the movers and the services you pick, you might need to pre-pack the mattress and box spring in boxes designed for beds and disassemble some furniture by removing doors and hardware. Finally, don’t forget to take plenty of pictures documenting the pre-move condition in case you need to file a claim.

Depending on the quality of the leather, this type of upholstery can last anywhere from 5 to 20 years. The more time you invest in the care and protection of the leather, the longer your leather furniture is likely to last.
