"Contracted Leighton to plow my driveway seasonally. Confirmed with him the day before the last storm. He never showed up. I texted and called twice with no response. I followed up the following week to see if there was a problem with no response again. Very unreliable - would not recommend!!"

"I've been with cheapscapes for many years and Rick is on the move all the time with much bigger clients and manages to find time for me. My driveways is always plowed in the winter before I get up in the mornings and head to work and my landscape is always beautiful, nicely trimmed and green. They do an amazing job on my 4 acre property during the spring, summer & fall. I've been with a few outfits prior to cheapscapes and they don't even come close to the manicured lawn I have done by Cheapscapes. If you want professional; skilled manicured lawns and winter plowing done right Cheapscapes is worth every nickel. For those of you who complain....feel free to shovel. Stone and Gravel questions, answered by experts

You can use normal bricks as cladding for a concrete or clay pizza oven or as a base underneath one. Fire bricks or solid clay bricks are necessary for an outdoor pizza oven’s floor, and you can use clay bricks for the rest of the oven.

You should clean your home’s brick once per year. This applies to exterior brick, but also to cleaning brick fireplaces. Create a homemade cleaning solution with equal parts vinegar and water. Use a soft-bristle brush to scrub the solution into the face of your brick and remove dirt, algae, and stains. Cleaning will protect brick from damage and boost your home’s curb appeal.

Depending on the amount of soot present, you can vacuum some of it using a brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner. Then, remove the leftovers with a mild cleaner, such as dish soap or vinegar mixed with water. Before applying a cleaning solution, saturate the bricks with clean water to prevent the cleaner from penetrating beyond the surface and causing structural damage to the bricks.

No, you shouldn’t lay bricks directly on dirt. While it might seem like a shortcut, it leads to a patio that shifts, sinks, and becomes a maintenance headache. Dirt expands, contracts, and erodes—none of which mix well with long-term stability. To build something that lasts, excavate the topsoil, compact a layer of crushed gravel, and add a coarse sand-setting bed. This layered base gives your bricks proper support, allows drainage, and helps block weeds from creeping through. Cutting corners here just means you’ll spend more time—and money—repairing your brick patio later.

Yes. Black stains are more than an eyesore. Some black stains can pose health concerns, especially for those with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory conditions. Some stains can also damage the brick’s structural integrity, harming the mortar and resulting in more expensive repairs.
