"Thank you for your kind words."
"Thanks for your review. We are very sorry for the delay in returning your call. It is very rare that calls are not returned. We have a very large service and have been playing catch-up this week due to weather delays and have been in the office at later hours than usual. You were actually on a list of calls for today. If you still need service we would be happy speak to you regarding your project. Again, very sorry."
"[Member Name Removed], thanks so much for your kind words. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future!"
Their contract included all details: blacktop removed, 2a grade of stone to be used for leveling, binder course, then paving course. It was a big firm and a solid contract but the price seemed a little high.
I called Tony expecting lower price from a small company. His price was only a little lower ($4.5K as opposed to $5.3K from a big company) but his contract had no details at all - just "grading" and "paving". He did not check disposal of old blacktop and planned to ditch it to my backyard. He did not indicate the grade of stone to be used and he did not check the binder course.
Perhaps he was going to do certain technological details but the contract specified nothing - just company name, paving and price. With this type of contract I would be completely unprotected if he would fill my backyard with the old blacktop and then placed one course instead of 3 coursed.
15% price drop compared to the large firm who gave me the real contract with the description of what they were going to do is not worth the risk. Perhaps he is capable of doing the right job but I do not see the upside to paying $4,500 to the contractor who is unwilling to disclose in writing what will be done.
"Thanks for your review, phone call, and very detailed email to cancel the contract and insult our work ethic! We will apologize that you did not feel comfortable with our contract. All contracts have a description of work to be completed, you called near 9pm and expressed great concern in wanting more detail on the contract, to which we said the work is described, regardless we would provide even more detail, even though the job was simple, not forseeing upcoming complications with the job. At 3am the same night an email was received canceling the contract! You never have us a chance to meet with you again or send out something else.. We have never in the many years of service not performed as promised. Every contract has a description, some jobs require timelines, adjustments to workflow as required for standards, etc., As far as prices, every business has overhead, budgets and know what they can spend and still provide a quality job."
"Thanks for your review, it was a pleasure."
"Thanks for your review. I did try calling and never reached you, I did come out to measure the driveway, of course I would want to contact you with a price. I assumed you were dodging me and decided to go with another company. Thanks again for your review!"
"Our service area is very large, and after hearing that your driveway was smaller it was explained that we wouldn't be able to save you money if you went with our company. We are very sorry if you feel that the explanation wasn't put into better words."
"Thank you for your review, after reading a conversation was held with the secretary. She said, you didn't like the way she answered the phone, and didn't give her a chance to answer your questions. We're sorry that you were offended and feel as you were treated unprofessionally."
Milisa has been doing our driveway for years. The work was done very professionally in every aspect of the jobs details . The driveway was completely cleared off of any dirt or excess grass before applying and sealer. Milisa made sure that the seams and bottom of driveway (Apron) was done a little extra because of the constant use of our Driveway. I will never hesitate calling her back next year or whenever we need to re-seal it again. It looks like a brand new driveway and everyone who passes the front of the house slows down and checks it out. Thanks again Milisa.
"Thanks so much, its always great to see you both and an absolute pleasure to work for you...and the driveway does look great from the road!!! See you in a few years, Milisa"
"Thank you so much for kind words, we really appreciate your business and are so pleased that you are satisfied. Thanks again."
"Thanks so much we do appreaciate your business and review! Happy holidays!"
"My name is Milisa I personally came to see your driveway, rung the doorbell, as well as knocked on the door… I'm sorry I was unable to reach you in person. Tony was supposed to come out, but with all of the rain during the month we were backed up that week and I was trying to lighten the load. Again, I'm sorry for the lack-of-explanation from myself. The message delivered by my office to me describing the scope of work and what I actually saw when looking at the driveway in person were very different. Instead of a single pothole which should be cutout and repaired, or minor cracking, the driveway also has multiple sinkholes that should be addressed before they worsen. A little info on sinkholes...they are sometimes caused by settlement of ground, underwater streams, static placement of vehicles, or the worse case are leaky pipes underground. Whatever the cause, we have company standards when dealing with sinkholes or potholes, the cost and method isn't cheap but it is effective in the long-term, by extending the life of the existing driveway. Sometimes problem areas are spread out along the driveway as a whole, and it should be completely repaired then resurfaced with new asphalt. Regardless of the above, we do reccommend to saw-cut out damaged areas, proper compaction of base before applying new hot plant mix, not cold-patch, otherwise it will be unable to battle the elements, or light traffic. Also, it would be of no benefit to seal coat such a driveway without making proper repairs first, we do not want our clients to spend unnecessary money for "thrown together repairs", and end up with a unpleasant sight for a driveway. There are companies that will simply throw asphalt in small holes around a driveway and roll it, the asphalt will not hold up if it is simply thrown in a hole, that is not a practice that we support. I hope this helps in understanding why the cost is higher than you thought it should be, our goal is to fix your driveway the correct way, not to simply patch-it-up. Again, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, and or lack of professionalism on my part! Best, Milisa"
Very, extremely unprofessional, and I will NEVER call this company again! I know for a fact that this job will cost me, and in today's economy to treat a potential customer who is about to spend good money on your services, this way? Nah, I'll take my business somewhere else.
Forget all the glowing reviews probably by his family members, this guy and this company are extremely unprofessional.
"I apologize that you feel as if you were treated unprofessionally. We do have a large service area and it isn't uncommon that prospective clients will call to get a general "ballpark pricing" before having an actual estimate. It is unfortanuate that the phone conversation ended so abruptly and an understanding could not be met. I assure you that all reviews are from actual Angles List members and it is disturbing to think that from one misunderstood conversation, our caliber of work and overall integrity could be questioned."
They did exactly what they said they would do for the price quoted. I dealt with both Milisa and Donna.
They were neat, professional and efficient. I am very happy with the work that they did and would not hesitate to use them and their company again. I wish I would have found them sooner. They take pride in their work and I highly recommend them.
"Hello [member name removed], thanks so much for your business and kind words! It was our pleasure meeting you both and we look forward to serving you in the future, thanks again! Milisa"
