Called Stake's Tree Service for an estimate of tree branch removal. Call was returned in good time and Archie came out and gave us an acceptable estimate. They returned on the date and time as promised and did a very good job on the tree and branch removal. All material was run through the chipper for cleanup and sidewalk was blowed off to finish the cleanup. I would use these guys again if needed. We had to make repeated calls over several months to have technician come back to finish job. Technician came back to finish. He didn't bring a ladder, so convinced us that it was not necessary to extend vent over roof line. With vent extended half way up a two story house, we now have dirt and mold at the exit site of the vent. Nobody will respond to our written inquiries about coming back to extend the system over the roof line, which was how the job was quoted and how we paid for the service. I was incredibly displeased with the customer service that the owner had provided. The performance for their services was satisfactory. The following spring they showed up in the yard during fertilizing again without our consent to finish it. When I called the company to ask what was going on. The owner was very rude to me and intimated to me previous that he had sent a letter to me and that I was just complaining to get rid of the bill that I owe them. His attitude towards me was not at all apologetically. He did not say that he was sorry the mistake was made or anything an owner should treat a customer."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/pa/jackson/lawn-scape-reviews-5470436.htm"},"position":10}]}

"Michael replaced a 23 year old front step for us in May 2019. In July 2021 we noticed moisture and mold in the basement directly under the front step, including inside the electrical box. We learned that water had been slowing seeping in around the frame of the front door down the wall to the basement because the concrete was not level by about 1/8” and slanted toward the house. I called Michael and he came out to assess. After first insisting that the step was level, he later agreed that it was off by 1/8” where it meets the house. He offered to use a composite molding material attached to the wood with caulking, and do a skim coat with bonding adhesive onto the concrete. Having done some research beforehand and consulting our contractor I knew that this was not a long-term solution. Additionally, the wood framing at the base of the doorframe was rotted from being continually wet and needs to be replaced. When I told him that our contractor suggested that the entire step be replaced, he said “that’s not going to happen” and went on to say that he couldn’t find my contractor’s name and also that he did not have a contract with him. I tried to approach him reasonably, showing him what was indisputably caused by his workmanship. He never even said that he was sorry that it had happened! From the onset, he was defensive, rude, and ultimately walked away from me. He tried to tell me that it likely wouldn’t have been a problem if I had a covered porch “like most people” pointing to other houses on my block. He even went on to insult me, saying that it took us two years to notice. I told him that we are likely going to have to have the damage caused go through our homeowners’ insurance and suggested that he file a claim with his insurance, to which he scoffed and said “then my rates will go up!” We plan to be in our home for a long time. I paid for a job done right, not one with a band-aid applied. This man does not stand behind his work."

FAQs for concrete finishing projects in Mount Union, PA
Concrete repair costs range anywhere from about $0.10 to $0.15 per linear foot to fill minor cracks, to about $6 to $14 per square foot to replace damaged concrete slabs. Repair costs vary widely depending on the size and type of work needed. For example, replacing 100 square feet of driveway will cost between $600 to $1,400, on average.
The average cost of stamped concrete is around $12 per square foot, but you might pay anywhere from $8 to $28 per square foot. The average 12-foot by 12-foot patio costs $1,730 on average. Your exact pricing will depend on the patio’s square footage, the condition of the area where you want to pour the concrete, the desired stamp pattern, concrete coloring, concrete grade, and local labor prices. Don’t forget to budget for extra costs like land preparation and additional concrete fortifications if necessary.
Depending on the cost to repair your driveway, it may be more cost effective to tear out and replace it with a new concrete driveway. The cost to repave a driveway ranges between $1,400 and $12,100, including removal of the old concrete. Contact a reputable concrete contractor for advice and an estimate. They may have a good reason for going with repairs or replacement after assessing your driveway. You may also have the option to resurface your driveway or pave over it without taking out the existing one.
It’s possible to create stamped concrete yourself, but we don’t recommend it and it’s often not cost-effective. It’s easy to mess up the pattern of a stamped concrete patio or walkway, leaving you with an unsightly home exterior rather than the elegant solution you wanted. Any mistakes made during the ground leveling and concrete pouring process will also increase the risk of cracks forming on your concrete. Additionally, buying enough stamps to get the pattern in before your concrete cures can cost as much as hiring a professional to do the work for you.
Concrete contractors typically charge anywhere from $6 to $14 per square foot. Cost factors include job size, site prep, base material, accessibility, your location, concrete finish, and concrete thickness. Removal of existing concrete, asphalt, deck, pavers, and grass will cost anywhere from $1 to $6 per square foot. Homeowners can often save money by removing and disposing of existing pavers, decks, and grass. Breaking up and hauling away concrete and asphalt is difficult and time-consuming without the proper equipment and may be worth having the pros do that work.
