"The team of Tom, Dan and Scott were very professional, courteous and friendly. They did a very good job in prepping the walls after removing the wallpaper which made for a smooth surface to paint. We love the end result."

"Shane is very professional and did a wonderful job.  The wallpaper border in the bedroom was put on over rough plaster so it was impossible to remove without damaging the plaster.  Shane removed all that was possible, then put a finish over the remainder to blend in with the existing plaster, then painted the walls.  The result looks great..  I am planning on having Shane back in the fall for additional work.

"Ron did a great job for a good price on our new house, painting the exterior.  Got the work done in the time he said he would.  Ron seems to be an old-school guy that does not take credit card and uses a handshake or conversation to seal the deal.  Was worried at first but he did everything we asked.  Other painters could not match our timing or were very expensive.  Good work.

"When Mr. Springer came for the estimate, he informed us that the $999 promotional price wasn't realistic; for our frame house the price was over $3000. After getting some other estimates, we agreed to hire him. He and his helper were on time, respectful, and cleaned up after themselves. They did the entire house in one week. I think the house looks much better; my husband thinks they could have done a better job scraping the old paint. All in all, I am satisfied; however, I don't think this was a 'deal' at all. We could have had the work done by someone more local to us for a better price, although it probably would take longer."

"They did real good. They took a lot of pride in their work. They did stuff beyond what I thought they were going to do. They sealed everything. They did two coats of paint and I know they did it throughout every room and hallway. That was something I did not expect. They said they were going to do it and so, they did it."

"It was advertised on Angie's List that the average kitchen would take them eight hours to complete. That I could either have two guys for four hours or one guy for eight hours and that they would do wallpaper removal, the cleaning of the wall, any work that needed to be done and then painting it. First of all, I could hardly get hold of the guy. They kept saying they would get back to me, they would get back to me, it took forever. They had said that they would come and then they didn't come. There was all kinds of mixed up. When they finally did come, he's telling me that oh no, I never said that. I said, yes you did. He said, no, that's just something that Angie's List put on. That there's no way that you could do an average size kitchen in eight hours, that it will take double the amount of time. Now, my kitchen is really tiny. It's a really small kitchen. The wallpaper was loose, you can just pull it right odd. All he had to do was wash it. The work that he did was good. He was very meticulous but he took about double the amount of time it should take to do it. I ended up getting charged $40 an hour over and above to get the kitchen finished. When he started, I have to have it finished, so it took two days. He insisted that it was never on Angie's List, what it said. He did do good work but at an incredibly slow snail's pace. I used to do contracting and I'm telling you this guy was slower than molasses. For me, it was tantamount to false advertising. Everything was done correctly. It's just that I got charged double. Every single things seemed to be hard for him to understand. He's a nice enough guy but we had a lot of communication difficulties over the simplest thing."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Accent walls can feel out of place or distracting if not well designed. Accent walls that don’t fit in with a room’s style can feel jarring or overpowering. Some accent wall styles can also feel dated, but fortunately, it’s easier to update a single wall than an entire room.

Both paint and wallpaper can work in a bathroom, provided you choose high-quality products in either category. Washable vinyl wallpapers can stand up to bathroom humidity without peeling, as can semi-gloss or gloss paint finishes. However, if you’re someone who likes to redecorate often, paint may make it easier to change colors or designs more quickly. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.

No, you don’t always have to remove old wallpaper before applying a new layer. However, you should pull off the existing wallpaper if it’s cracked, peeling, or in poor condition. We’d also recommend against putting wallpaper over textured or dark-colored wallpaper because the old layer may be visible through the new one. In addition, if you try to hang new wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper, the adhesive might not stick properly.

Accent walls have been a popular decor choice over the past two decades, and they don’t seem to be going out of style any time soon. They’re a quick and easy way to change the mood of the room without committing to painting every wall, and many homeowners like the visual interest they add to a room.

There can be too much of a good thing when it comes to accent walls, so avoid creating one in every room in your house. Some rooms, like bathrooms and kitchens, don’t naturally lend themselves to accent walls, so it’s best to skip them there. Of course, your home should reflect your own sense of style, so if accent walls in multiple rooms appeal to you, there’s no hard-and-fast rule forbidding it.
