"I don’t normally post reviews but this one I HAVE TO! The sad part is before this encounter I referred 3 different people who needed flooring or painting to him & immediately had to reach out to them & warn them of this final interaction. First off he broke multiple items in my home, never replaced the outlets they removed to paint, & left areas unpainted or needing touch ups which I did myself & I had an item go missing which I was willing to let go of (but now after the threat made I'm not sure if my items were broken, missing or simply stolen)……in addition he had no real schedule, they showed up whatever day/time they wanted, if they showed up at all! Then things took a turn for the worse when I asked him to come back and fix my railings that were in great condition when I purchased the home 12-21-23 & it PASSED inspection (because it would be a safety hazard it would not have passed inspection if they were not in good & stable condition) that his guys took out while doing the flooring. Mind you, I expressed to him the reason I am requesting that he comes back and fix it is because I had a child bump into it and almost fall through the railing on the second floor down the steps. When I text to ask if he can come back to fix it, first I was told they were already like that, then he said they were falling out as they walked up the steps, THEN I was called a b**** & he said “I’d be lucky if he doesn’t come back to rob me after all the work he did for me (imagine how uneasy that would make any female knowing this group of grown men had access to my home for over a month!) then he said that I wouldn’t even be able to prove he did any work for me since I paid him cash & we didn’t have a contract”. All the while I have direct messages including discussions of payment, he text me pictures & vice versa, & he posted the job on his FB! When I say I was FUMING!!! The lack of professionalism, lack of accountability and to make threats?! Thank God for pictures, text messages, FB & witnesses! I waited to post this in hopes that once I calmed down from my initial reaction I’d have a different perspective on how to approach this. The saddest part is that this could have VERY easily & respectfully been resolved ??‍♀️. Unless you have the time/ability to micromanage any & every thing he does, DO NOT HIRE!!!! He "might come back & rob you"! (Disgusting to say even out of anger!) Take a look at the before & after below. P.S Also the same closet he posted on his page had to be redone by a different contractor because he didnt actually screw anything onto the studs but instead used anchors & made pointless holes in my wall."

Stone and Gravel questions, answered by experts

While painting can certainly change the look of a chimney, you should think twice about giving your brick chimney the old landlord special.

Painting brick is porous, meaning it’s full of tiny holes that can soak up moisture. Those holes also allow it to dry, though. So, when you paint it, you trap any moisture inside, providing an opportunity for mold, mildew, and water damage.

Paint also shows wear faster than naked brick. This means that once you paint a brick surface, you’ll have to keep painting it to maintain a clean look. A paint job is also harder to undo on brick because of its porous nature. Once you paint it, it’s hard to go back without some serious power washing—another added cost.

No, you don’t need to soak the brick before cutting it by hand. In fact, cutting a wet brick can make it harder to see your score lines and may cause the chisel to slip. Soaking is sometimes used with power tools to reduce dust, but for hand-cutting, it’s best to work with dry bricks for better control and visibility.

In certain cases, such as when dealing with surfaces like concrete rather than brick, grout can be used instead of mortar. Grout tends to be more convenient to work with on non-masonry surfaces. However, many experts suggest using mortar whenever possible, as it provides stronger adherence to the bricks and results in a more textured appearance.

They provide excellent heat retention and durability and add a classic aesthetic to a home.

You can use normal bricks as cladding for a concrete or clay pizza oven or as a base underneath one. Fire bricks or solid clay bricks are necessary for an outdoor pizza oven’s floor, and you can use clay bricks for the rest of the oven.
