"The contractor Johnny was willing to discuss the project and products with me in detail. He was punctual and committed to getting my deck cleaned and stained even though the weather was not cooperative. Our deck looks really nice!"

"Hired Casa Power Washing, who completed the job in a timely and professional fashion. However, Angi never sent me the 15% reduction that was offered before the job started! Very disappointed in Angi’s oversight!"

"It went very well, they stayed on the job till completed, even working late evenings.
They kept the place clean when they left.
The community is very pleased with what they see, compared to what they saw as they drove through
our local Bank's drive-through.
The only drawback was that the woodwork was done with a roller instead of a brush and I assumed that the inside of the cupboards would be painted also. I suppose I should have made that clear in my contract. However I am pleased with the outcome and would recommend them Highly.

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Trex states that its Trex decking is an eco-friendly composite material made of 95% recycled or reclaimed materials (including plastic and wood), making it a sustainable brand of choice. According to the company, Trex is one of the largest plastic bag recyclers in the U.S., with each 500-square-foot Trex deck containing about 140,000 recycled plastic bags.

Yes, pressure washing a wood deck can be a good idea as it effectively lifts ingrained dirt, mold, and mildew, improving the deck's appearance and longevity. However, it must be done carefully, as it's easy to damage the wood, especially softwoods. To pressure wash safely, use a lower pressure setting and a wide, 40-degree fan pattern nozzle (often white). Keep the nozzle at least a foot away from the wood surface and maintain constant motion, avoiding hovering in one spot to prevent gouging.

If you want to make a deck cleaner from products already in your home, there are various options. The most common is to use a gentle blend of 1 gallon of warm water and 2 tablespoons of ammonia-free dish soap. You can also mix water with distilled vinegar. Sprinkling on some baking soda can help to remove mold and mildew. You can add oxygen bleach (but never damaging chlorine bleach) to the water and ammonia-free dish soap solution for something a bit stronger.

Many people say the best composite decking is Trex, TimberTech, or Fiberon. These brands have formulated composite deck boards to withstand the elements and hold up over time. Each offers a range of product lines varying in durability, price, and appearance. Compare their different composite decking offers for cost, looks, and features before deciding on a product.

While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct structures. A porch is a covered structure, usually attached to the front of a home, that offers protection from the elements. In contrast, a deck is an open, uncovered platform, often attached to the back or side of a home. Because porches have a roof, they typically require less maintenance than decks, but both features need regular cleaning and repairs to stay in good condition.
