"It's going to cost me thousands of dollars to repair the damage TruGreen has done to my property. There are large sections of my lawn where the grass is now completely gone as the result of improperly applying fertilizer and burning the grass. Before TruGreen my lawn was healthy and pothole free. I am also now dealing with a mosquito infestation. This after 7 treatments from TruGreen during 2022. Again, I never had this issue with my previous lawn care service. Avoid at all costs if you value your lawn."

All Organic Raised Bed Garden plots are our specialty. We will custom design you a plot, or you can order one of our standard plot designs. Our plots are small, we like to call them the "Goes Anywhere Garden Plot". Our standard small plot is 4'x4', our large is 4'x 8'. When order a plot we deliver a complete garden including all organic soil and 3 seed packets or 2 live plants. You have a garden when we leave. Other services: creation of wildlife friendly yards. If you are interested in developing a mini wildlife sanctuary we can help with that, and if you like, we will even get it recognized as a "Certified Wildlife Habitat" to include a placard and registration in a national registry.

We are a family owned and operated company since 1980. We are a state licensed contractor and are fully insured. There is a small nursery onsite with hours by appointment only. Call 717-243-8814 for more information

"Jeff Walsh’s work done on our yard was unprofessional, extremely disappointing and incomplete. He began work spring 2019 to improve our drainage and add “quality” screened topsoil to our yard. He only worked 2 half days before disappearing. He came and dropped a few small truck loads of soil that was supposed to be screened but was full of rocks, glass and tile. The dirt was dumped in lumps around our backyard he only spread ¼ of the dirt brought in and did not level or grade it at all, leaving piles around our property. His efforts actually made the drainage in our yard much worse. When he was initially working, he also damaged a new tree we had planted without doing anything to fix it. He then stopped working stating he was waiting for more top soil availability. The next week he asked us for money above the original quote saying that he had brought in more dirt than he actually did and that he spent more time than he actually spent working on our job. He then told us he was incapable of completing our project citing death in family and not having the right equipment. We had a large rain and, because of the way Mr. Walsh placed the dirt, water began to drain toward our house. We spent 4 hours in the heavy rain digging trenches and moving wet dirt around with shovels, rakes and hoes in order to make water drain to the sides of our yard. We then called Mr. Walsh and asked him to come and fix the immediate drainage issues and he said he was unable to do so and has refused all contact thereafter. He made our situation worse, delayed other work we planned for our yard, due to the timing we were unable to get a contractor into fix the yard until the middle of the summer. We do not recommend Mr. Walsh to anyone due to his unprofessional work ethics and inability to do the work. Our yard drained better before Mr. Walsh worked on it."

FAQs for greenhouse and nursery service projects in Enola, PA

Buying plants from a nursery is one thing, but ensuring that they are properly planted is another. While you might not need to hire a landscaper for every plant that you buy from a nursery, it’s a great idea to have their expertise and experience to plant larger items, like burlapped trees or specialty plants like rose bushes. Even better, before making a trip to a nursery to buy new plants, consult a local landscaper to test your soil for pH levels, soil texture, and phosphorus and potassium levels to help determine the best plants for your area.

Garden nurseries offer many plants to make your home and garden flourish. In-container plants are one option, including perennials, annuals, and small shrubs or trees. Large hedge plants and roses are called bare-root plants, meaning they have not been potted. Finally, you will see some burlapped plants, typically larger trees and shrubs with burlap wrapping around the bottom.

The best time to plant is between spring and autumn. Springtime weather is typically mild and is when nurseries start to bloom. When the summer weather arrives and it’s hot out, it’s best to avoid planting bare-root plants, but you can still plant many in-container varieties. The first sign of fall is another great opportunity to plant biennials if you live in southern states, or a lovely vegetable garden up north.

If you’re hiring a landscaper to plant the garden of your dreams, you do not need to provide them with plants that you bought yourself from a nursery. While you certainly can provide your landscaper with plants, keep in mind that some nurseries provide discounts to landscaping companies, therefore potentially lowering your materials cost. Beyond the cost of the plants themselves, you need to have additional materials like topsoil and mulch for the project. Most likely, your landscaper can get a discount on these materials as well, so it’s worth speaking with them before making any large purchases.

While there are over 400,000 different flowering plants worldwide, there are five main types of flowers. These flower types are based on their lifecycles, giving each type a unique personality. These types are:

  • Annuals, which complete their entire life cycle within a single growing season.

  • Perennials, which the tops die off in the winter but regrow in spring.

  • Biennials, which complete their entire life cycle within two years.

  • Hybrids, which exhibit either annual or perennial behaviors depending on location

  • Flowering shrubs, which are small to medium-sized perennial woody plants, such as shrubs or evergreens.
