"The guys at JML Pest Control are extremely knowledgeable about extermination yet very approachable. A thorough inspection and spraying of the first two levels of my home as well as the outside was completed, with an explanation of problem areas and ways to reduce the chance of infestation. Will definitely hire again."

"The prices were a little higher than we anticipated but when I checked out other area prices they were actually in the lower end fir our area. Had we to do it over again we might have asked for a day or two to consider what we wanted done. The work was done very quickly, within three days fir the new flue. The office forgot to call to confirm the day and time they were coming back but since we were home it wasn't a problem and we were glad to have them there to complete the job. They were very clean and after they left you wouldn't know anyone had been there. Very friendly as well."

Dr. Sunshine Solar started out of the growing need for homeowners who have had solar companies install solar panels with great haste, only to abandon their responsibilities to maintain and service the solar equipment shortly thereafter. Often times homeowners are put on extremely long wait times just to even diagnose the system issue before having to waiting again for that company to come back and fix the equipment. Our goal at Dr. Sunshine is to be able to provide homeowners a timely and responsive solution to their solar system needs. This dedication coupled with 10 years of installation experience can give solar homeowners the knowledge and maintenance needs that large companies often say they will provide but most fall short of.

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

An owl's worst enemy in the wild is often other raptors and environmental factors. Among the avian threats, larger owls or other birds of prey can pose a danger, engaging in territorial disputes or competing for food resources. Terrestrial predators like foxes, raccoons, and larger mammals may target owl nests or young fledglings. Environmental factors like severe weather conditions, habitat loss, and food availability changes can also significantly impact owl populations.

In most cases, a mother bird will return to a disturbed nest after the disturbance has passed. However, it can be hard for a mother bird to find a relocated nest. So, while it’s false that a mother bird will abandon her nest if it’s been disturbed, it’s not a good idea to relocate a nest with live babies or eggs in it.

Pest control measures for bird and bat issues typically last from several weeks to months, depending on the effectiveness of the implemented solutions and the return of conducive conditions.

Birds are often averse to certain strong scents. For instance, the odor of predator urine, such as that from foxes or hawks, can deter them. Similarly, birds may dislike the pungent aromas of garlic, onions, and chili peppers. Essential oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, and citrus can also be effective in keeping birds away. However, it's important to note that individual bird species might react differently to these scents, so it might require some experimentation to find the most effective repellent for your specific situation.

The best time of year to remove bats is autumn until spring. In fact, many states have restrictions on bat removal, mandating it to start sometime in August and go up until May. For some states, the removal period stops in March. Your pest control pro should know of any restrictions and can help you pick an optimal time for removal.
