He laid runners on the floors to not track things in the house when going from the porch (his traveling workshop set up) to the kitchen. He always had his shoes off when in the house as a courtesy. He was meticulous and thoughtful in his work. He had ZERO issues talking something through with me as the non-professional consumer. And he is a military vet!
