Kitchen cabinet sales & design. Specializing in problem kitchens and unique designs. Refacing of existing cabinets in wood and Laminate, countertops, sinks, faucets, appliances, flooring and complete bathroom renovations. In house Installers and Free financing available. WWW.TRICOUNTYKITCHENS.COM

"Multi-time returning customer of Tri County Kitchens Inc. Few little kitchen update projects previously completed with them. Now we just completed our 2nd full kitchen renovation with Todd and his team. My wife and I are very cautious when hiring people to come work at our home. We are careful and decisive during the process to choose the professionals we decide upon. That being said... Todd and his crew are always 1st class to interact with. Courteous to converse with during the planning period. Happy to answer questions regarding materials, products, and the design that was best for our home. Detailed and itemized quote followed. Thorough plan of action was written out as well. The results have revamped the look of our home. As neighbors and friends and family do... they want to know who did the work and are we happy with the company who did the work. Yes, were are tremendously pleased. Happy to pass along their contact information so they too can utilize Todd and his team. Proud to have had Tri County Kitchens Inc take care of us, yet again"

PA055967-James A. Munion had a start just like anyone else, at the very bottom. He swept up the work shop for a company called Dotson brothers when he was only 12 years old. Mr. Dotson said to James A.: “I actually can’t believe that you moved the glue buckets out of the way to sweep in the corners. The last kid we had never took the time to do that.” From that day forward, James had a permanent place at Dotson Brothers. He quickly moved on to shop hand, and was allowed to help create the laminate counter tops the company made. After only a short amount of time, Mr. Dotson had trusted Jim with crafting them on his own. Jim took to it with excellent initiative. However, after an extended amount of time creating counter tops, it was time to move on with his career… James’ grandmother owned a two car garage she rented out for tenants. The day he said he was going to start his own business, she, (politely as an italian-broken-english-speaking grandmother could,) kicked out the two tenants immediately and gave him his work shop. Since that very day, we have been running the business out of that very same two car garage. We have been family owned and operated since we turned the power on in the shop, in 1978. Kitchen & Bath Remodeling - Cabinets, Vanities, Cabinet Refacing, New Cabinets, Bar Tops

"Highly recommend, great work, reasonable pricing, hard workers, easy to work with, amazing attention to detail, skilled craftsmen, and great people."

"Words cannot express the degree of satisfaction we have. We get compliments from everyone who sees the result, especially from those who had seen the old layout. It was a first class job all the way, ending on time. Unusable space was reclaimed. I consider this project to be the best money spent in a long time and would highly recommend Evanko Woodworking. Work was done late Spring of 2017."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Since melamine is a type of laminate, both types of cabinets are similar in features and benefits, but they also differ in some ways. Melamine is generally more affordable than laminate, while also being resistant to scratches, stains, and heat. However, melamine cabinets are also heavier and may easily splinter during installation. All in all, the choice between melamine and laminate cabinets will depend on your specific needs.

While you may have heard people use millwork and carpentry interchangeably, they aren’t the same. Millwork is a type of carpentry, which means that carpentry isn’t always millwork. You can tell millwork apart from other types of carpentry because it’s manufactured at a mill. Notably, casework is also confused with millwork. Casework is different because it refers to boxes like cabinets and bookshelves.

Because of their location, kitchen cabinets are susceptible to water damage from sinks and household appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers. The back wall of kitchen cabinets is often obscured by its contents, making it harder to detect water seeping through the floor and into the unit from plumbing, window leaks, and broken appliances. When the water isn’t immediately dried and is left to sit there, it penetrates the cabinets and leaves them damaged.

If you’re looking for shelving that will stand up to years of heavy stacking, plywood is the clear winner against MDF (a.k.a. medium-density fiberboard). Plywood is a sturdy material that resists sagging, warping, and splitting, making it the perfect fit for shelving in a variety of spaces. For sheds, garages, and other environments that aren’t climate-controlled, wood or plywood is a must, as moisture and humidity will cause MDF to warp over time. While MDF is the more wallet-friendly material, it should only be used for storing lighter items in a climate-controlled space.

The two main types of cabinets are face and faceless models. Faced cabinets have a front panel that gives structures additional strength but reduces the opening size, making them less accessible. Faceless cabinets look sleeker and are easier to get into, but they can be more challenging to install and may not be as sturdy.
