"Everything was very smooth and easy to understand! The pros of going solar were made completely clear during the sales proceeds and installation was done swiftly. Lots of people in Raleigh NC taking advantage of this long term energy solution."
"The Solar panels was installed on a ground mount. It was a design that I could use the space underneath for storage. I did not want a metal system so Renewable Engineered Systems; built a solar racking system from high end wood, designed for boats. It was creatively built and they cleaned up all around.
"Mike was great and his team was too ! He scheduled the work quickly and actually visited the site prior to be sure he had the right equipment. He and his team were right on time and the guys worked very hard in tight spaces doing a better job than the original contractor had done. All of the damaged flex line was removed and brand new lines were installed and elevated with zip ties off the ground to better avoid varmint damage in the future. Mike checked my furnace and did some quick maintanance in it for me. He is extremely experienced and very personable, and his price was extremely fair. I would (and will) call Mike Bowen for any and all future HVAC, electrical, plumbing and gas needs for my cottage.... EXCELLENT GUY - EXCELLENT COMPANY. "
"They arrived on time. Responded with 3 personnel. They removed the old freon immediately and removed the outside and inside unit. It was hot and humid, but they did not complain. The attic is no place for a human in this heat. They prepared the site for the new air handler, installed it quickly and had the system up and cooling in no time. A slight problem arose after they left at 6 PM in the evening, and they sent a very gracious and professional technician and in fact the installation supervisor responded, after hours! They had the system running again, and found a faulty part was the problem, not their fault. The next day they came back to see if the system was working correctly and even cleaned the area of the install more and they did not have to, they gave 110%. I use and would use UGI for all my heating, cooling needs, they are excellent. "
"The Tech came out and due to the parts shortage he was not able to replace the front panel so Choice warranty gave me a voucher to replace it. I'm very pleased with their services. All I paid was the service fee."
In most cases, solar panels are covered by homeowners insurance because they are considered a permanently attached part of the home, and you may not need additional coverage. However, it is essential to read the fine print of your specific policy to understand the extent of the coverage, as some policies might only cover certain types of damage, such as hail. Always check with your insurance provider before installing solar panels to ensure your policy provides adequate coverage for your investment.
Solar shingles and solar panels are not the same. While solar shingles use the same technology as traditional solar panels, they integrate with your existing roof. That means they are used to build your roof instead of simply resting on top of it. When comparing solar shingles and solar panels, it's helpful to know that solar shingles are more aesthetically pleasing than solar roof panels. They also do better in harsh weather due to limited uplift from strong winds.
Solar roofing shingles may qualify for significant federal tax incentives through programs like the Residential Clean Energy Credit, which offers up to 30% of installation costs through 2032. State and local governments often provide additional credits, and utility companies may offer further rebates or net metering programs, depending on the state. Just look into the qualification requirements beforehand because installation, documentation, and technical standards can impact eligibility. Consult the current guidelines and a tax professional to maximize available benefits.
Not all homes are suited for solar panel systems. Older roofs or those in poor condition may need repairs or replacement before solar panels can be installed. Some other factors to consider are the amount of sunlight your roof receives, the roof’s orientation and pitch, and any shading from nearby trees or buildings.
Depending on the climate in your area, the best time to install solar panels is either winter or early spring. Summer is a fine time to install panels, too, but it tends to be the busy season, so prices may be higher and companies may have packed schedules. The installation process can take more time than expected between getting permits and finalizing a design, so start as soon as you can.
