"I feel so lucky that I found Papa's Painting! I just moved to Pittsburgh and needed a lot of painting done very quickly (so that it could be completed before our furniture arrived), and boy, did Papa's Painting deliver! 
I had four different painting companies come out to give estimates, and not only was Papa's Painting the least expensive, they were also the most able to work with my very compressed timeline (they were able to start two days after giving the estimate). Beyond this, they did a fantastic job and went above and beyond. Here is a list of the things that made them great:
1. Mike (the owner) referred to me a colorist to help me pick out colors, and because he has a contractor relationship with Sherwin Williams, he got me a great price (only $50!) on her services. Right off the bat, this was a huge win. Usually it takes me days to pick out colors (and I still pick wrong sometimes), but this lady was fantastic: in 90 minutes, we picked out colors for 7 rooms and I love them all. 
2. Everyone at Papa's Painting (but especially the owner Mike) is just so nice, friendly, and helpful. It was a pleasure having them around the house.
3. The pricing seemed fair for the quality of work. I have gotten cheaper painters before, but then you end up paying for it later when it doesn't look right and they spill paint on your stuff. Also, I didn't feel like Mike was trying to sell additional, unnecessary services. 
4. They were very helpful and went above and beyond. We just moved into this house, and so there's a bunch of stuff to be done. They helped me with this stuff, which saved a bunch of time and hassle on my part. Specifically, they moved a chandelier to a different room and re-wired it, glued down a loose floorboard, and took down an unnecessary cabinet in a bathroom.
5. Most importantly: they did a great job painting! All of the rooms look fantastic. 
When we have more painting to do, I will definitely be calling them! Solid people and solid work.

"Dave and his crew painted the entire interior of our new home---and I mean all of it. Almost every room was a different color from the next. When we weren't happy with one of the colors we chose, he didn't hesitate to paint over it with a color that we liked. He also completely transformed our kitchen by painting the cabinets white. It was a huge job, and I can't tell you what a relief it was to work with Dave---he is *extremely easy-going* and professional, and even though I had never hired anyone for a job like this (first-time home buyer), I just had a gut feeling from the beginning that I could rest assured the job would be done, and done well. I was right! I've been anxious about plenty with this house, but not the painting job. Dave transformed our drab and beat-up interior into the cheerful, sunny home I had envisioned. "The team of Tom, Dan and Scott were very professional, courteous and friendly. They did a very good job in prepping the walls after removing the wallpaper which made for a smooth surface to paint. We love the end result."

"Shane is very professional and did a wonderful job.  The wallpaper border in the bedroom was put on over rough plaster so it was impossible to remove without damaging the plaster.  Shane removed all that was possible, then put a finish over the remainder to blend in with the existing plaster, then painted the walls.  The result looks great..  I am planning on having Shane back in the fall for additional work.

"The finished job shows streaks and places were missed all together. There were cracks on seems which was the main reason I wanted it done so the sanding wasn't done properly. By May of 2011, the window part of the window sills were cracked and chipping. The front door showed cracks and streaks and was later repainted by another painter. Mr. Yohe was very unprofessional. He came out the first week of October and said he would mail his proposal. He didn't mail it. I called twice and gave excuses as to why he didn't mail the proposal and he finally responded when I itemized the work and sent him an email. All he would have to do was copy the proposal. Instead he just quoted a price of $525 for the whole project. He didn't itemize everything in the proposal. After going back and forth about the quoted price he stuck to the price of $525 instead of itemizing each object to be painted. I was particularly angry because during a rainy week he called to come out to my house. Instead of waiting until the weather cleared, he made excuses about only having one day to be able to do the work. He simply blows off small jobs. He gives estimates and then when he discovers its a small job he doesn't like to do it. My job cost 625 dollars and I could've easily gotten the job for around 300. He was supposed to paint my kitchen as well but didn't give me an estimate and said he wouldn't be able to get to it until right before Christmas."
