"Kurt came to my house to fix damage to all our 2nd floor ceilings that were damaged from Hurricane Sandy.  He replaced the drywall and sanded and primed all the ceilings and repaired damage to some of the walls.  He then started on my downstairs rooms.  I was not sure about the paint colors, but Kurt patiently reviewed colors and brands with me.  He also gave me tips on how to fix drywall (how to spackle mostly- which I hate with a passion), so I can do that in the future (when hubby and 17yr old son decide to make dents/holes in the walls).  He meticulously inspected all the ceilings and walls prior to fixing and sanding the drywall before he painted them.  He put 2 coats of paint on all the ceilings and walls.  He hung new bi-fold doors on my foyer closet. He replaced the door frame that was very beat-up. He even replaced a light bulb and cleaned the glass on my upper foyer light!
Kurt made my house look like a brand-new house!  My son was getting married in a month and I wanted it to look nice for the pictures as well as for all the people we were having over to our house.  When my son came home (he's stationed in AZ), he just walked around amazed at how nice the house looked.  He kept saying "Mom, if I didn't know any better, I would swear this is a brand-new house!  Our family and friends also commented on the outstanding, professional job Kurt did.  They looked over the walls and trim and said "He did a fantastic job!".  He re-hung my traverse rods and all the blinds and curtain rods.  All I had to do was hang the curtains!
Kurt was extremely easy to work with.  He was very dependable and flexible (hubby and I have non-traditional jobs and work odd hours and days).  He came on weekends to make sure the job got done on time.  He was very meticulous and detail-oriented.  He would re-do things if they were not to his expectations.
I will certainly hire Kurt again for anything I need around the house.  He is not only a great painter, but he also has a lot of experience with general contracting.  He is also a great person- very easy to talk to, and has many great suggestions to help any situation you may have with your house.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR- HIRE KURT- YOU WON'T BE SORRY!"

"We found the deal on Angie's List and called.  The owner called us back quickly and quickly set-up an appointment to review the work.  Because we needed the work done in a hurry, he rearranged his employees' work schedules to get to our project.  The employees were pleasant, respectful, clean in work habits and did a wonderful job.

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Liquid rubber is great for waterproofing, but it can damage your deck if it’s not applied correctly. First, it can trap moisture in the wood if the deck isn’t completely dry before application.  Second, applying it too thickly can create a heavy, rubbery surface layer that peels and cracks under fluctuating temperatures. For the best results, ensure the wood is completely dry before application, and apply the liquid rubber in thin, even coats. A quick inspection every now and then will help you catch any issues early, keeping your deck protected and looking its best.

Homeowners should build their floating decks at least 18 inches off the ground. Having it at this height will allow for better airflow underneath and help prevent moisture-related problems like warping or rot. That being said, local guidelines for deck heights may vary depending on where you live.

A sunroom will add more value to your home than a deck, but with a much higher up-front cost. Depending on its construction and function, a sunroom may be counted as additional living space, while a deck is strictly an outdoor feature. Both will increase your home’s value, but the sunroom will have a much bigger effect.

Decks are generally more expensive to build because they require elevating and railings. The difference between decks and patios is that decks are elevated, while patios are usually on the ground level. Plus, decks are usually made of wood and need more maintenance than most patios. However, decks and patios serve the same purpose, providing outdoor space for you to enjoy.

The “best” material is in the eye of the beholder, as each common decking material boasts its pros and cons. Poured concrete is the best budget-friendly option, but composite wood brings high-grade aesthetics without breaking the bank. Wood is the most traditional material, but it requires more maintenance than some other materials. In other words, do your research before settling on a deck material to find the one that’s best for your pool.
