"We are so thankful we found Carl! We had a dead ash tree that was becoming a potential danger. He came out, took a look, gave us a bid, and was able to complete the work a week later. He and his crew did a phenomenal job. Heâ s very knowledgeable and worked hard to preserve as much as possible, while pointing out other issues we never would have identified. While we planned on two full days for some other trimming and pruning, we had a plumbing emergency and had to cancel the second day. Carl worked with us and was very understanding. Weâ ll definitely be calling back in the future to finish out the job. 10/10 would recommend!"

"Wonderfully. They came out with a foot and a half of snow to get through and had the tree downed swiftly. All branches were removed and everything was cleaned up thoroughly. I would definitely hire them again. I was also very happy with their rates."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.

Common signs that a tree is rotting include dead branches, a leaning trunk, peeling or cracked bark, leaf discoloration, and the presence of fungi. If you notice any of these signs, it’s best to hire an arborist near you to inspect your tree and determine if it can be saved or if it needs to come down.

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

Permits are often required for large tree removals, especially in urban areas or for protected species, ensuring regulation compliance and neighbor safety.

You should not trim an oak tree in the summer. Oak trees are especially susceptible to disease, and open tree wounds are an invitation for beetles that carry tree-killing fungus. If there’s no risk that the oak tree will do damage to your property or hurt someone, it’s best to save the trimming for fall or winter. If you can, seal the wound with latex to prevent fungus from getting inside.
