We also do pavers, flagstone, patios, water features and sod. During the winter months we do snow removal on pathways, side walks, roofs, and driveways.

"Dan and his team did a fantastic job for us. The area around our cabin was exceptionally clean and clear of pine needles when his crew was finished. He provided a reasonable quote on the project quickly and was able to complete the work within days of the original request for a bid. He was responsive, professional, on time and a pleasure to work with. We would reccomend him highly."

Our commitment to going "green" with lawn care goes beyond simply using emission free equipment. There are steps we take to help our customers create and maintain a beautiful lawn naturally. Yes, we do things a little different around here, the tools we use are 100% carbon emissions free! The latest technology in battery powered equipment has now made it a viable option for professional lawn service companies to use alternative equipment to do the same job with zero emissions. What a concept... no fumes and considerably less noise while providing at least the same quality results and (with the cost of gas) most times a better price! For one time, weekly, or bi-weekly rates call for a free estimate. Estimates are based on lawn size and present condition. Go green Bend, and get a 100% satisfaction guaranty with Back 2 Green lawn services! We love what we do... and it shows in everything we do :)

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

Very carefully. You should be cautious when using any of the above methods, as any one of them could lead to you accidentally killing desired grasses and plants. However, there are selective herbicides that can target certain plants over others. Look for a product that only affects the type of weeds you want to eliminate and spares the plants you want to keep.

First, make sure you’re watering your grass early in the morning (and keep in mind you don’t have to water every day). Doing this helps ensure the water is able to soak in before the hot temps evaporate all of the water. Also, when you mow, don’t mow your grass as short as you would in non-drought conditions. Taller grass can help slow down the rate at which soil dries out. Finally, take your leftover lawn clippings and spread them out across the lawn to give it a little extra shade and nutrients.

The best time to top dress your lawn depends on what type of grass you have and what climate you live in. Cool-season grass should be top dressed in late fall, while warm-season grass should be top dressed in late spring.

The best type of fertilizer depends on the type of grass and your desired end result. Generally speaking, slow-release fertilizers are best for grass, as they gradually release nutrients into your soil instead of all at once, which meets the needs of many grass types. However, the tradeoff is that slow-release fertilizers contain phosphorus, which negatively impacts local water quality. Also, some grasses require different formulations to meet the demands of the soil. Test your soil to see how acidic or alkaline it is before choosing a fertilizer.

The best fertilizer for thick Bermuda grass is an organic fertilizer with an N-P-K ratio high in nitrogen, low in phosphorus, and low in potassium. Organic fertilizers help Bermuda grass grow stronger and healthier by retaining water well, supporting microbiome life, and promoting long-term soil health. However, this type of fertilizer is more expensive than synthetic fertilizers.
