"They were super communicative. They had some issues with one of their vans, but in the end, they made it all the way up to government camp and cleaned our carpet. It’s a two-story townhouse with steep steps that are all carpeted and then second floor carpet and living room carpet we have had the carpets cleaned numerous times in the past and they have been OK. This time they look brand new. What a great job I would only use them to clean any of my carpets in the future."

Professor Steam Clean provides the highest quality at an affordable price. Our services exceed industry standards. We clean all carpets and upholstery with an 8 step process to ensure the deepest clean and quickest dry time possible. We use a professional truck mount system that has excellent heat, pressure and vacuum. We also use the Rotovac 360i carpet cleaning wand which cleans and drys more effectively than a traditional wand. The Rotovac 360i is a patented rotary jet extractor that utilizes 3 rotary vacuum heads and 3 rotary jets to thoroughly deep clean your carpet with hundreds of multi-directional passes. A traditional wand only cleans carpet fibers back and forth without much agitation and less vacuum. The result is a much cleaner carpet and quicker dry time. We use environmentaly safe solutions with a hot steam rinse to ensure there is not any residue left behind. Call to book your appointment today!

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

To remove mold from fabric that’s part of your wood furniture, the best option is to take the fabric off and place it in the washing machine. If you cannot take the fabric off, it helps to move the furniture out into the sun. Use a high-quality vacuum to remove any mold spores that are present. You can try spraying the mold with a 50/50 vinegar-water mixture. Hydrogen peroxide is also a possibility for removing mold from fabric, but it could damage certain types of fabric.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

Cat pee has a strong ammonia-like smell, so if you smell cat pee but don’t have a cat or don’t suspect your cat has any accidents, there could be other issues at hand. Aside from pet urine, your house may smell like cat pee from leaking freon from an old fridge, mold, spilled cleaning supplies, or even outside odors from nearby farms.

Whether your carpet cleaner is self-employed or not doesn’t need to play a major factor in tipping. Some larger cleaning companies prefer you don’t tip their employees, but if the cleaner is self-employed that isn’t a concern. Tipping isn’t required for this service, so feel free to use it as an appreciation for their service and hard work.

Depending on your type of carpet, a wet/dry vacuum is a great final step to removing blood stains, but it will only help after you’ve used another method to pull out the bulk of the stain. A good option is to use a wet cleaning method, then apply baking soda to the stain, and then follow that by vacuuming thoroughly. Remember that this vacuum type does not work on all carpet types. Wool can shrink with this method, so always check the cleaning instructions from your carpet’s manufacturer.
