"The service worked out good. They came out and did their job. The first day, I think we had to reschedule, but once they started working, they were right on-time, got it done, and they cleaned-up after themselves. I did ask them a question to see about something else and they never got back to me about that. So, they never did a follow-up once they had completed their job. I guess they just moved on and I had two more small jobs I thought he could handle, but he never came back to follow-up on those. The price was a really good price. It was a special so it was not their normal price. It looks good."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Woodward, the semi-arid climate brings strong winds, temperature extremes, and dry spells that can shift soil and stress fencing. To ensure durability, posts should be set deeper than average, and materials chosen for UV and wind resistance. Scheduling installations during the stable fall season helps avoid issues with frozen ground or sudden storms, making for a longer-lasting, weather-resilient fence.

Helpful?

In Woodward, allowing sprinklers to oversaturate the base of fences, trimming weeds too closely, and letting vines or brush grow unchecked can all weaken fencing. Delaying repairs after windstorms or ignoring loose fasteners leads to bigger problems. Storing heavy items against the fence or using harsh cleaners can trap moisture or cause corrosion, so regular inspection and gentle cleaning are key for longevity.

Helpful?

Many Woodward homeowners underestimate how wind and hard clay soil affect post stability and installation depth. Seasonal weather delays, the need for storm-resistant designs, and ongoing maintenance are often overlooked. Planning should also include clear neighbor agreements, checking for underground utilities, and considering access for installation equipment—especially on larger or shared rural properties where boundaries may be less defined.

Helpful?

In Woodward, choosing materials that withstand wind, sun, and shifting soil is crucial for fencing projects. Deep-set posts, rust-resistant hardware, and proper drainage help prevent early wear. Regular inspections, prompt repairs after storms, and routine treatments like staining or sealing extend fence life. Local professionals familiar with Woodward’s unique climate and soil conditions can ensure installations meet the area’s specific challenges.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Woodward typically need to confirm property boundaries, select materials suited to local wind and sun, and determine fence height and gate locations—especially for rural or agricultural access. Decisions also include arranging for utility line marking, obtaining permits for taller fences, coordinating with neighbors or HOAs, and planning ongoing care like wood sealing and vegetation management along the fence line.
