"We got quotes from other contractors. We decided that his price was the most reasonable (not the highest bid or the lowest) his integrity, communication, reliability, and overall quality of the job were well above what we anticipated and have dealt with in the past with other contractors. Will be using him for future projects."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

Home Building questions, answered by experts

Homeowners in Tulsa consistently underestimate the extensive timeline required for municipal permit reviews and historic district approvals. Planning for home building also requires accommodating strict stormwater drainage regulations and severe weather resilience standards, like high-wind resistance. Many property owners overlook the complex foundation requirements necessitated by expansive clay soils, making early geotechnical evaluations essential for keeping your construction project on track and structurally sound.

Helpful?

When planning a home building project in Tulsa, account for local zoning limits on lot coverage and stormwater rules that restrict future additions. Size your utility lines and electrical panels larger than currently needed to support future upgrades seamlessly. Document all structural details and foundation specifications during the initial construction phase. This proactive approach ensures any future expansions or modifications process smoothly without requiring extensive utility retrofits.

Helpful?

Before starting a home building project in OK, obtain a comprehensive geotechnical report to understand the expansive clay soil conditions on your lot. Check the property's exact flood zone status and local drainage regulations to determine elevation requirements. Identify all utility easements and zoning overlay districts to establish strict boundaries for your structure. Reviewing the complete permit history also prevents complications with unpermitted past additions.

Helpful?

As a property ages in Tulsa, ongoing home building work involves addressing foundation movement caused by expansive clay soils. You will face roof replacements and exterior envelope repairs due to severe weather and hail damage. Older properties require complete plumbing updates to replace outdated materials like galvanized steel. Homeowners also undertake significant insulation and air sealing upgrades to combat extreme summer heat and improve overall energy efficiency.

Helpful?

Thorough home building work in OK features a complete inspection record without correction notices. A properly executed project includes an engineered foundation design tailored to local expansive clay soils, showing zero signs of differential settlement. Look for correctly sized HVAC systems based on specific load calculations rather than simple estimates. High-quality construction also includes proper roof flashing and hurricane straps to withstand severe weather and high winds.
